I'm not sure if I trust articles with that many puns. I almost vomited at the opening sentence, then I got to the 'boiled over' part and stopped reading.
Don't get me wrong, I agree with your point. I just don't think things like that should be an avenue for journalists to attempt to show off their incredible humour.
