Logitech Wireless Keyboard $26.08 @ Officeworks thanks to k_leb

This beats the Dick Smith deal by 73c!

I know this keyboard has been as low as $19.99 in the past @ AusPost.

Seems to be available in most stores.

Can't recommend this keyboard enough, the trackpad is incredibly accurate when lounge surfing with my htpc.. Much preferred it over my much more expensive and heavier/cumbersome diNovo edge..

Except if you have condensation (like from a drinking glass) or any form of moisture on your finger, then it doesn't work at all :D

May wish to add a stubby holder to your order!

To be fair I've never used a touchpad that enjoys wet fingers :P

      • Haha this is true, but that's self inflicted.. Water and tech don't usually mix (although I do always try to find it, having a Sony Xperia Z2 phone, Z tablet, waterproof point and shoot and nopro sjcam).. The old wipe dry on your pants and the trackpad is ready to go!

    • Just to add my anecdote to the mix, I can't recommend against this keyboard enough. I went through two of them a few years back, in both instances I found the touchpad maddeningly unresponsive. I've recently purchased Microsoft All-in-One Media Keyboard (https://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-au/p/all-in-one-media-…) which I've found to perform far better than the Logitech.

      • Was that this R model? I think when I bought mine I researched the original had some woeful problems, but fair call that would sway me away for sure..

        • It may well have been the original! To be honest I wasn't aware a revision existed.

over 2x the price? Have the keys all rubbed off yet? Microsoft keyboards are notorious for it.

        • You can't compare Microsoft RRP to a heavily discounted Logitech :/ The most competitive online stores are selling the Microsoft keyboard for around $30.

So far I've managed to keep all my key markings

    • really? I have been using the diNovo edge for the past 5 years and its been so good…up until now when my dog decided to deem it a toy! was looking for a replacement so perfect timing!

Personally I would wait out until the Logitech K400 Plus is released. The price on the K400R is sure to drop further.

  • This is a very good deal, but for a HTPC keyboard, I just can't live without backlit keys. Will keep on using my old Dinovo Mini for now.

Although, the Logitech K830 is $67.50 at Dick Smith at the moment, which seems to be way cheaper than anywhere else. I reckon that's the better purchase.

"I just can't live without backlit keys"

      a) One is unlikely to die due to lack of backlighting.
      b) Could always learn to touch type.

Touch typing on the K400 is a pain because the keys are smaller than normal, especially the abnormally tiny right-shift key that lives next to the up arrow key.

        • YouTube searches are case sensitive now? :)

        • @Lukian: Login passwords are, and you cannot see what you typed except for the ***'s. I ended up turning on a torch. Those ungrouped Fn keys are hopeless too on the rare occasion that you want to use them.

Yeah but HTPC's are remote driven and the keyboard is just for config etc. I have the cheapest Logitech wireless keyboard (with wired mouse), for the HTPC, but it gets to be a pain driving windows by keyboard only when setting up, and crouching to use the mouse knocks around my aging knees so I am just after it for the trackpad as a smaller all in one when needed. I guess if you were using your TV as a PC for web browsing etc that would be different, but we are talking about a HTPC.

  • Used my old k400 for years. Solid build, needed maybe one battery change in that time?

Very occasionally the keypress doesn't go through if there's interference, but it's definitely better than most wireless keyboards.

  • This compared to k810?

  • i've got one. don't remember when i got it and how much i bought it for. but i quite like it! having the touchpad and keyboard together really works well when you're trying to use a PC while sitting away from a desk.

  • ops

  • Would this be ok for use with a minix x8h media player? As the air mouse has died.

    Thanks

  • let me know when its $10

  • Now showing as $35

    • balls - i knew i should have got it last night too…
