  • $19 Telstra locked at Big W if there's still stock

Telstra Nokia Lumia 532 for $19 from Big W + unlock code for $20 off eBay which means $39 for unlocked Lumia 532 was a much better deal.

    • +6

      Only if you're extremely lucky

    • +1

not all stores are doing 532 and they all were allocated a limited amount of 530 for the sale. they wont sell more than they were allocated

    • some store still have 530, so they wouldn't want to sell the 532 for $19… sigh… so end up getting 530

    1+1=window

@nocure: its an uncomfortable truth the world needs to know about

        • +1

Hey at least you didn't spend $250 more on a Sony Mobile device.

"im not one prone to exaggeration"…….

In this particular case its most certainly true.

    • chillax man, its just a phone

The 530 is an awesome phone if you have realistic expectations

microsoft are dropping the windows phone platform anyway and going android native

      ROFLMAO!

    • Most of Oz bargainer have this phone already. If it was as bad as you say then why does it keeping coming back on front page of ozbargain. And MS is nowhere near dropping support for windows phones. Don't believe whatever you read on internet.

      • Most of Oz bargainer have this phone already.

MOST? How many MILLIONS of times have we told you not to exagerate? ;)

        • +1

I don't think that's exaggeration. Maybe its resist able at $20 but at dollar 30 with 3 month Netflix.

Anyone who use Netflix and ozbargain should have this phone. WP market had quite a bit rise in Australia during last quarter. I think most of that is thanks to ozbargain.

  • If you see your local Big W store has stock then go to your nearby Officeworks store to ask for price match.

    • +1

I tried that at ringwood. they wouldn't give the match because they mentioned it is locked with telstra.

      • My local OW nor Kmart would not pricematch as theirs were Optus locked

The nokia executives that sold their soles to satan

Actually, Nokia sold its footwear business to Berner in 2005, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokian_Footwear
Satan only got the mobile handset business.

  • I was one of the lucky ones that got the price match at Officeworks and am happy to have gotten with a device that can do GPS and music for $18.

  • Thinking of using this as my go to for a trip overseas, figure with here maps, a bunch of offline wikis on the places I am going, some music and hopefully a half decent camera I should be ok and won't have to worry too much if I lose it. Not sure about the camera though

    • Go for the Vodafone Huawei Y550 @ Kmart… sure I saw them for $79 the other day. Far better phone all round.
I got one of these 530's from a recent Big W special for $19 and it is handy as a spare but not at this price.

      • Already have both phones, I wouldn't pay 77, just actually thinking of using it now! Funnily enough I also have a y550 but it's quite a good phone and apart from the cheap price it would be a shame to lose :-P

  • For those interested in getting it for $19, I got two 532 from BigW Southland yesterday. They had few in stock too and happy to swap it for 530.

    For $19 it's a great backup phone. And for $39 (including $20 for unlocking) it's a great gift… :)

    • What's the benefit of 532 over 530? My local BigW says there's stock of 530

      • +1

More RAM and flash storage. The 4GB of the 530 fills very quickly, but you can move apps to SD card, which is essential.
Windows phone is not terribly demanding on RAM (unlike Android)but more is better, and may be essential for upgrades post win-10.

Both have poor screen quality and cameras. Anyone who wants a Windows device as their primary phone should consider the Lumia 535 for those reasons.
The 535 is a far better phone despite the similar name, and can compete on hardware with the budget Android phones that are popular on ozbargain.

I just got the 530 to play with Win-phone and the new apps., so camera and outdoor screen viewing didn't matter.

  • +1

The 532 also gets glance and double tap to wake.

I think if you were wanting a wp as your main phone then the 735/830/640 would be the best ones to look at. The 830 has been under $200 and the camera is excellent, gives the iPhone 6 a run for its money; especially at 1/5th the cost.
