Was looking to get a cheap M4/3 lens for my Olympus OMD E-M10 for a while and at half its retail price in the US I decided to go ahead and get it.

For comparison, locally in Australia prices are:
Ted's - $249.95
George's - $297
JB Hi-Fi - $199
Harvey Norman - $194

Downside is delivery takes a while and you don't get local warranty but at this price it's hard to complain, even with the crappy exchange rate right now.

  • Gerry Gibbs had it for $99 few months ago (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/194174). it's an older version, but the difference is only in the cosmetic.

  • These were $99 bucks last year.

  • Having it at $99 before makes you feel like you're getting ripped off but it's still decent value if you need the focal length. It's a good lens.

  • I'll wait til GG do it at $99 again.

  • …wishing we could get the 2.8 pro version for this price or at least for <$1000…

    • I'd probably stretch to $800 for that lens.

  • I bought one from JB for a Christmas gift for $199, this is a good deal

  • $99 at Amazon. They state the regular price at $199.

    Not including delivery though.

  • No bad, but for that price I would rather spend $169 for Oz stock.

Cool, that means you should be able to get at least that price from other Camera House stores.

I have always found Camerhouse to be good at matching prices. I have a local one and always explain that I want to support my local camera store as the are few and far between these days. Give them the price you want, having records of other's prices helps. I recently tried to get them to match the Digidirect sale prices, and it was the first time they couldn't on a Panasonic and Canon, but I had mentioned the week earliers price at Camera Pro on another Panasonic. They matched that price even though the sale was over and the next best price currently was $10 more. Same with a Tamron 70-200 two years ago. I named my price and they gave me an extra $50 off. It's worth trying and does help support your local store, at least with turnover, if not profit.
