It is possible there is a new model coming, or also now that the model is older and the industry knows the Nexus 6 launch price was at too high a premium, they may just be bringing it back down to a more reasonable level. Also, the price was reduced on the Google Play store for US customers (maybe UK too?) but not Australia.
All that said, this is a good deal, especially as it includes GST (which Google Play Store does not).
One rumor is Nexus 5 2015 in August.
I think that is being optimistic, but who knows.

Very tempting but too bad the Nexus 6 camera is very average it seems.
I'm more turned off by no storage slot.
And, to be honest, the fact that it's a Lollipop device which ATM seems like more trouble than it's worth for me due to apps not being compatible.
It can be offset by an OTG usb… but that's too much of a hassle for guys since most of us don't have bags…

Alright, jumped the gun early this morning and ordered one.
It's a Nexus, so no surprises there (I'm a Nexus 4 owner).
If you want the best camera, go for a Samsung (Galaxy s6).
I've got the Samsung Galaxy S5 and iPhone 6.
I'm not 100% sure why but I think I've hit the point where I don't like Samsungs anymore (owned the S2, Note 2, S4 and S5).
Probably because they've gone the route of Apple in terms of non removable battery and no sd card slot…
Why buy an imitation when the real thing is only a bit extra. I've moved from Samsung to Sony and am currently finding problems with the NFC but nevertheless I'd much rather using Android then iOS.

I was never a fan of Samsung, until I held their newer phones (with metal, like the Note 4, A5, S6 etc.). They feel very premium and are beautiful, especially the A5.
The S5 was an awesome, durable but ugly phone in my opinion. Camera is still among the best, and bests modern Xperias and (HTC) Ones. But unholy and plastic…

Yeah, I guess the S5 was a bit of a let-down. The S2 was a pretty good phone at it's time, the Note 2 did it's job quite well, the S4 was an improvement on the popular S3. The S5 just didn't feel like it was anything particularly special; the waterproofing and fingerprint scanner seemed like catch-up manoeuvres on the Sony Xperia Z and iPhone 5S.
Anyway, I've ordered the Nexus 6 so hopefully it'll reinvigorate my interest to get back into the Android world.

Not that I don't think it's a bargain or anything, but unless you want a pure android experience and first hand firmware update (which can be a good or bad thing), at a slightly higher price point, I would definitely choose LG G4 over the Nexus 6. The CPU alone is much more future proof, screen is better and the camera is more superior in my opinion.
One advantage the s805 has over the s808 is a significantly faster gpu.

I have a note 4 and TouchWiz is good on Lollipop. It was crap on kitkat though. I wouldn't use custom rom as it voids warranty. The main thing that I would like that the nexus 6 has over the note 4 is front facing speakers.
@clse945111: I like stock ROM too , nice and clean without any gimmicks … The main problem with the manufacturers is they are trying too hard to differentiate themselves and piling android with bloatware ( except for Moto maybe )

I meant stock from the manufacturers. Meaning sense from HTC, Touchwiz from Samsung etc. I'm fine with companies trying to differentiate themselves with skins, just make them more usable without lag etc. For example sense works perfectly without lagging, why can't Samsung do the same? They're like 100 times larger than HTC.
Touchwiz is pretty good on my Note 4, never notice any lag now. I have a nexus 9, and I find that some apps load faster on my Note 4 like YouTube. On kitkat there was lag. I agree sense is the best of the bunch, I prefer sense over vanilla Android. I like multi window on my note 4 too, I see that Android M is getting that too though.
It was an easy choice for me to choose the note 4 over the nexus 6 though.

Sub $600 will be the norm come September IMO.
