Was looking for a decent HD camera for Skype teleconferencing, and it seems that this is an excellent value for money in today's DS deals. Camera gets good reviews online. The higher end models (c920 and c930e) have larger resolution, but for skype they are still doing 720p, so no advantage for me really. Maybe this deal will be of use to someone else looking for a decent web camera for online communication.
I do not have experience using this Microsoft camera, but specs-wise and based on reviews they almost look like twins… Just external appearance is different.
The MS Cinema is better with low light and I think the Logitech C525 is only fixed focus. The difference isn't massive, but there is a difference. Resolution is only part of the story.
Logitech has auto focus, and it works a treat. I got the camera, and my peers on skype are pretty happy with image quality.
Don't get me wrong, it is a good camera. I just don't think it is a bargain compared to the MS Cinema at MSY.
This seems expensive for a camera of this level. It is a reasonable camera, but not a great price.
The MS Cinema camera is only $47 at MSY and a much better camera. Even better value when MS have their cash back on hardware.
