it has everything I wanted till I looked again at the Processor, bugga soooooo slow

    • -1

Perhaps slow, but is there something better for the price?

      • -1

Yes , the MSI vx600 just a few weeks ago was going for $600

        intel core2duo + Radeon HD 3410 512MB dedicated.

        beat that.

this laptop doesnt look that good.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD . Looks like no dedicated RAM on this card.

        • +3

Yeah, but that's a comparatively chunky 15.4" laptop… this is an ultraportable with 8hrs battery life.

          • @Evil-Elmo: +1 .. This is in a market for those who are out and about! ( Awsome deal )

but most of us use our laptops near a power outlet 99% of the time ( Bad Deal )

      • I would buy the COMPAQ CQ61-314TU if i was looking for an all~rounder! and not Battery life. ( Price $577 ) + Haggle in store for less.

      • This is a single-core CPU…

  • Yeah 1.4Ghz CPU :) thats pretty good for typing, surfing the net and watching movies but anything else and your going to feel the slowmotion. Its still faster then most netbooks even the ones with 1.66Ghz Atoms!

But keep in mind that a 2Ghz Dual core Mobile Celeron laptop is allot faster then this thing for less money. But also comes with less Battery life so its really a trade off.

    • Would rather have seomthing that has low battery life and fast

      • +1

        Don't buy this then lol

    • Hi vid_ghost,

Which laptop are you recommending which is faster than the Acer 1810T

  • Does COTD ship it fast enough to register for the cashback from Acer? I know when I bought one retail I had to register pretty quick!

    • +1

      Yes.

Acer also look after our customers who live in far regions.

      Everyone is taken care of.

      • QQQ - The delivery of 2 laptops to me were late (one of them was a day late and the other was on that day itself). This has caused me unable to register the cashback from Acer at all as there is no option for me choose the date I made the purchases.

When you said "Acer also look after our customers who live in far regions", do they really or they purposely delay the delivery so that we can't get in time to register? The T&C says have to register within 14 days of purchase, but I only received mine 2 weeks later.

I am dealing with Karl at COTD, since last week but everysince he said "I'll do my best to get this sorted out for you. I didn't not receive anymore reply from him." I am not sure if he is still helping me or not.

Grabbed one to replace my Asus 1000HE as my main work computer. The SU3500 may be slow compared to a Core 2 Duo T6500 or something, but it'll blitz an Atom CPU.

This one isn't very good. Too slow. Better to go for: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/20239#comment-134577

    • This is not a gaming laptop.

      It's a portable internet/office/light multimedia notebook.

It has an 8 hour battery life. It has no DVD/CD drive. It weighs only a 200g more than a 11.6" netbook.

It is ludicrous to even compare the two.

      • Are you serious? no drive? how are you suppose to watch any movies etc…

        • Who watches movies from an optical disc these days? Don't you rip your movies and play them in iTunes, like every other person on the planet?

        • Are you serious? Did you not notice what kind of notebook/netbook this is?

  • I own one and happy overall. Great price.

Good: Battery life, Weight (1.5kg), Doesn't get hot, Performance is way better than netbooks.
Bad: Semi-glossy screen, Dual Core CULVs are available.

  • It is probably sitting between a full 14/15 inch notebook and a netbook. 13 inch LCD (verses 10inch netbook or 14/15inch notebook). SU3500 is a lot faster than N270/N280 but at the same time much slower than a Core2Duo. Netbook-comparable battery life. Heavier than a netbook but quite a bit lighter than similar priced notebook.

So I guess it's for those who are seeking something in between.

  • this is a very very nice deal. it is perfect for those who don't play games/photoshop (who will play games on a 13 inch monitor anyway). If you put a usb digital tuner(they usually come with remote control), it can be a good media center as well.

  • Gah, I promised myself no more spending until after Christmas, but couldn't help myself. Thanks a bunch, ozbargain :-(

  • They have a beast of a laptop on right now for the same price….

  • Deal ends at midday, any chance excess stock will allow this deal to run a little longer? I'm thinking about buying one today or tomorrow but can't do so within 20 minutes.

  • Tempting deal but I can't make the purchase in time. Will have to pass.

  • Has anyone got it yet?
The ad says fast 48 hours dispatch however, my order status is still showing payment received.
Will not be very happy if miss the $99 cash back promotion

  • Its 24th now, still not receive! And no one will be working tomorrow and I will be going holiday on Sun zzz… Hmmm how am I going to get back the cash back? I ordered 2 units ….
