Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate Mechanical Keyboard - Cherry MX Blue $169 @ PLE

110

Folks,

Thought this was a really good price for a Cherry MX Blue Das Keyboard Ultimate. This version has the blank keys.

$169USD at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Das-Keyboard-4-Ultimate-Clicky/dp/B00J…
$229AU at Scorptec http://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Keyboards/Mechanical/5436…

I think they have $10 delivery.

I've used this keyboard and it's really nice. Aluminium finish, the height bar for the keyboard doubles as a ruler. Also has 2xUSB 3.0 USB hub. Very nicely put together keyboard.

      are you a mechanic?

      • i am The Mechanic

        • Great movie!

    • I'm wondering the same thing.

Yeap. Great board. I'm using the browns at work. Purchased it for $209 at CPL. Awesome board and this price is really, really good.

  • I was considering a keyboard like this but then realised I probably don't want them all stealth/blank. I'm considering buying a regular mech kb and replacing all the alphabet keys as blank but not sure where to buy blank keys.

not sure where to buy blank keys.

      here…

    • What you're looking for is keycaps. If you really want to go down the path of switching out said caps, I would recommend you go here:

Be warned, they're not cheap, even when compared to the cost of a mechanical keyboard. The spacebar can be an issue; there's a few different widths and a few different types of stabilisers making for a crapton of spacebar types.

Looks amazing. Not sure I get what the point of blank keys is though, I touch type but there is no harm in having a reference

    • Type faster

    • dont look down

      It makes you feel cool

'Ultimate' in title would be helpful.
It refers to the model with the blank keys.

  • After reading through the mechanical keyboards subreddit I can definitely see the additional benefits, but not sure if I personally would value the benefits as being ~$100 over a "regular" keyboard.

    • you can find decent mechanical keyboards for $100 ish

    • Have you tried them out before? I know there are people who do not like mechanical keyboards and actually prefers membrane keyboard over them. Just in case you don't like them, I think you should try them out at least.

I've spent $70ish dollars on mine from EB Games, so you probably could get something similar to that at around that price.

      • There's some cheap rapoo mechanical keyboard with kailh switches for $40 (msy had it for sale for $35 at one point)

      This one maybe?

      Quite good reviews

It comes in both blue and brown switches although I can only find the blue one for sale in Aus.

I would look at the tesoro excalibur instead since its the same thing but cheaper. (and has software)

If you want to absolute cheapest get the rapoo v500 @centrecom.

i had one of these for around 8 months but had to get rid of it. the clicking sound travels through your house so if you have a baby trying to sleep - maybe give this a miss :D

  • need the same or similar quality but browns.. any ideas?

  • Damn, really want the Pro w/ brown. I've got the Ultimate S w/ brown and while it's great for the most part, I've found not having labels annoying when gaming. A stray key press when typing an email is no biggie, but trying to play a game like Elite: Dangerous where just about every key does something gets kind of tedious.

    • Can get it from PCCG, but it's an extra $50…

  • PCCASEGEAR currently has the Ducky Shine 4 on sale for $150 if you're looking for a backlit alternative.
