Amazon is having a 'Prime Day Sale' where there are massive sales however no prices have been released apart from twitter posts. It should work for Australia (according to Business Insider) however you can always use mail forwarding

      Any credit card should be fine. You may need to use a US billing address (read as: mail forwarder address).

    I thought the "with special offers" (ie advertising), did not ship to Australia?

    No play store access, just Amazon.
    Can this model be rooted and upgraded, e.g. Cyanogenmod? That was great on the old Kindle Fire HD.

    Poster, the model on sale is the "Fire HD", they dropped the Kindle in this version.

    The sale is pretty underwhelming considering the claims Amazon was making… However, on the off-chance that anyone purchases something don't forget to use Amazon Smile. Purchasing items through that means that Amazon will donate 0.5% of the purchase price to a charity of your choice.

    You could try your chances for $10 free when spending $45 on gift cards. But it specifically says US residents only. If you were going to buy digital software (hence buying gift cards to start with) then there'd be no risk because you were going to spend that anyway.
