  • Thanks for the post been waiting for ages for the Vis-A-Vis to go on sale.

    • They're almost as expensive some lighter samsonites..are they that good?

      • -1

Had mine for 12 odd years. Still as strong as the day I got it!
Throw it in the wash, comes out as good as new. Only thing is one of the clips is broken… Are they "repairable" as such??

        • +1

The Vis-A-Vis is the hard case, not something that will fit in your washing machine….

        • If its crumpler bring it to their store and they will send to have it fixed free of charge.

        • +1

          @Maz78: here is one more

Thanks captain Knob, and the 7 others!

You get lifetime warranty with Crumpler. I have 3 bags, 1 waist bag and 1 FUG laptop cover. I love them as they last. Also the backpack has been through a lot of abuse and has been back for repairs twice due to me being careless. Have nothing but praise. People say they are expensive - I'd say they are worth it. They are top quality with kick-ass warranty you don't get with any other brand.

    • Yeh I reckon the price is pretty good especially for the quality you get. Got a few camera bags, fugs and backpacks that are still going strong.

Still to expensive/ I'm still too poor

    Can we pay with eneloops

  • Have to say they're extremely generous with pictures of the merchandise on the Myer website.

  • No discount on the Private Zoo, but the proud stash for $42 is pretty good.

    • Except then have the $10 shipping fee on top. Still not bad…

      • +1

If your lucky you can click and collect in your local store if they have stock.

  • Probably worth noting that crumpler has increased their prices across the board.

If you were eyeing off a crumpler bag I suggest you pull the trigger now, as it seems that Myer is still using the previous RRP.

    Example:
LLA day pack was $120 rrp and is now $145 rrp.

    • I was thinking the same but I believe the new models are out and the cost more than the previous Gen bags.

Went to their crumpler website and the new dry reds are 400+

  • What do you think of this? Like it, but is it too showy.

    • +1

it's good. especially for quick customs checks.
bad if u got embarrassing underpants or porno stash

  • any sale in store?
I want the vis a vis 68 in red but sold out online

    • i know previously, Myer online and Myer instore had different pricing but this was on an electrical item…

    • +3

yes, 40% off in store too. I just bought the dry red 5 from store, 40% off!

  • +1

Can confirm same sale in store. including dry red 5 backpack.

    • Thanks for that. Been wanting to get the dry red 5 for ages!

  • thanks OP. picked up a large dry red bag for some upcoming trips. 237 instead of 445 on the crumpler website is a great bargain!

So pissed off with Myer at the moment after the suitcase sale from last week or so.

Case arrived and had marks like it had been used before on the outside. The protective plastic had been removed off the outside but not completely. Zipper is freyed and had threads poking out. Stain found on the inside of the case after I guessed the code since the case had the instructions on the inside of the case.

3 emails to Myer and zero response.

Don't buy from them online if you need help and can't call their service number during working hours.

    Tony.

Out of curiosity couldn't you just go to any Myer store nearby and either have it replaced or refunded?

      • The hours I work don't allow for it basically.

    • Same thing here. Picked up my Samsonite purchased from Myer online this week from office. The box is not original. The luggage wheels are marked with dust. Call customer Service and return is the only option as all sold old. Which means causing trouble to myself, as already wasted time to shop online, to pick up and now return. Think it would be fair to offer a complimentary coupon, let it be $5 or $10. I have chosen Myer and paid extra $10 from other shops because Its reputation and return service. I was paying for a new itrem instead of an old and ex demo.

Not that it is big deal. The feedback fells into deaf ears and it's a repeated examples. Do you think there is a case for ACCC on misleading advertisement?

      • I've put in a PayPal dispute now as I wasn't getting a response to my emails.

I've repeatedly told them that to return the case and have a replacement issued is a waste of their money and my time so offering a partial refund would be better. Plus it would be a better gesture of good faith from Myer.

I honestly feel like this has been the same kind of experience buying from China. Emails go unanswered and if they do they are offering the opposite of what I've requested without acknowledging what I had written in the original emails.

To hear that you've had a used product sent to you also eatwell365 makes me wonder if they are palming off all their returned stock for online sales so people have less chance to return the item ?

I'm tired of companies calling me and saying "Please call us back" when it's not possible to do so due to the hours I'm working and that an email would take no time at all to type and send.

If I had time to call companies back I'd be buying from local stores and not online in the first place.

        Disappointing experience really.

        Tony

        • What optimal outcome do you think will get from Paypal dispute?

        • @eatwell365: I've asked them for the equivalent of courier fee's for taking my original case and then a replacement one to be sent to me ($60 total). That way they won't be out in stock and I can use the current case for an overseas trip on Wednesday.

          Tony

        • @6828:
Hope all goes well for you.

You made me check my own dry red crumpler luggage when it arrived. While it wasn't in the original packaging, thankfully no stain marks, just Dusty like came from a shelf which hasn't been touched for awhile.

        • @harkoliar: Mine had something like ice-cream or toothpaste, and crumbs and the tag that was on the outside that explains how to set the code was on the inside. The clear plastic on the outside had be removed and there is remnants on the case where the middle strip is for the zipper.

Lucky the code was 000 and I didn't have to enter up to 1000 combinations :)

          Tony

        • @6828: Update - Myer provided a satisfactory outcome after writing to their CS in my case. : )

  • I went instore and got a Dry Red 4 for $237. This was 40% off $395, whereas the website was $201 being 40% off $335. The OzBarginer in me should've pushed harder for the lower price, but it still seemed like an OK deal.

    • Went to David Jones, Hornsby, today out of curiosity, and they indicated the would be interested in price matching. If I didnt order online already, would have gotten one

  • +1

So, went in store to buy the dry red no. 5 and the 40% sale sign says it excludes crumpler. Asked the floor staff and they said it's not on sale, but I asked them to try scanning it and it gives 40% off. The cashier girl got all excited too and end up getting one for herself!

  • they cancelled my order…

  • they cancelled my order. out of stock supposedly. anything i can do? e.g. wait for new stock?

  • They also cancelled my order for LLA Action day bag. They sent the dry red I ordered though.

    Can they do that?

    • +1

      I guess so.. if they don't have it… :(

just bad customer service / experience but not illegal I spose

It's probably because their online store isn't linked to their inventory system.
So someone probably has to manually change stock numbers once the fulfil an order to update website
