I'm sure Gearbest has official original Xiaomi smartphone too.

        • +1

I don't mind businesses advertising on here and giving us deals directly but it needs to be the best possible price out there. Saying that their product is genuine is not good enough. Gearbest is also going to be genuine. I am not too sure about the posting rules on OZB but these sort of deals needs to be banned. This guys is advertising a phone which is $20 more than their competition and not even willing to match or better that price.

        • @All Blacks NZ: cant agree you anymore. Here is the place to offer/find best deal for everyone. Not the place that your company post advertisement to make us more clicks

      • Duplicates are created only when Price is high and as such I wonder why someone will create a duplicate for Xiaomi

there are 2 "required fields" when ordering this phone

    1) selecting colour (white + 2gb)
    2) Accessories - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Cases +$9.98 OR Redmi 2 Screen Protection +$4.98

I do not want accessories. how can I select the phone with out having to get them?

    • You could buy it from Gearbest for a lot cheaper at $129.99 USD and no accessories selection required. Personally i find it dodgy forcing people to buy accessories with the phone and given no choice not to.

      • true, however the forced purchase of overpriced accessories is craptacular.

        • Yes it's a dodgy practice that's for sure.

At least Gearbest has this phone for cheaper and as far as i know no forced accessories purchase through them.

    • Thanks for your feedback .. update the select

    • I'm on the website (on my PC) now, it doesn't seem to require you to pick the accessories there?

      • That's because it was removed after there were complaints.

  • +2

Gearbest is cheaper. And MI company just lower the price last week but your price didn't reflet,

  • Missing 3G 850.

    • how much does not having that telstra frequency matter? Only in some circumstances, or of critical neccessity if one is using any telstra signalled phone?

      • +1

If you are on Telstra and not in a 4G area… it matters ALOT!

        • +1

Well then if you're on Telstra 3G this is not the phone for you. That rules out Boost Mobile too because it uses Telstra 3G.

        • @hollykryten: That's alright I suppose, no biggie. I realise I made somewhat of a mistake when I purchased the Elephone P8000. Looks like I'll have to head back to the optus network. Thank you all for the info!

Bought this phone a few months ago. The 2GB version is a 'China Mobile' version, which means it has 850MHz 3G. My box lists the following bands: GSM(B2/B3/B8), WCDMA(B1/B2/B5) and FDD-LTE(B3/B7) i.e. GSM(1900/1800/900), WCDMA(2100/1900/850) and FDD-LTE(1800/2600) if I'm not mistaken. So suitable for Telstra 3G, not Optus 3G. You need to confirm these things yourself when buying a Chinese phone.

      • Australia Post's website says no lithium ion batteries can be sent by air….wondering if this applies to incoming parcel from china as well?

    • The official website is stating that they are looking at unlocking the 3G 850mhz frequency with a future update for the Elephone P8000… well it looks that way.

  • Hi guys. I am keen on this phone. Read a lot about the Xiami mi4i overheating. Any ideas if the Redmi 2 enhanced have the same issues?

    • Redmi 2 ENHANCED use Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor

      • Thanks for your reply. Would u be having any trouble to send this phone from china given that it has a Lithium Ion battery?

        • Yes ! Nextbuying send the redmi 2 enhanced phone with a Original Lithium battery ( Nextbuying support Express DHL shipping to Australia 3- 5 work day , Singpost 10-15 work day ! and FREE SHIPPING 15 -20 Work day )
