  • thanks op, great timing. i was looking for a deal on the v6 absolute all morning. bought!

    • Glad it was helpful, good thing I remembered I had it before it expired!

I'm kicking myself for not buying it on the day (35% off) but this is still good price for the full model.

      Happy sucking!

  • Thanks for the code!! Been wanting the am09 for a while! Silly question though but where do you enter the code??

    • am09 was $503 during the last ebay 20% sale (via tgg's ebay store - $629 less 20%)
i'm guessing we'll see it again in the next few months (if you can wait)

good price though. Costco auburn sells it for $599

      • Thanks for the heads up but I need it now as its freezing!

I have the normal fan heaters and have disrupted sleep because it makes too much noise and the timer bit is fidgety.

I got the macbook from tgg ebay sale and wow appalling service at its best! But they do have some great deals though !

        Cheers

  • got it! Silly me!

    Thanks again !

  • Thanks Bimby have purchased the V6 Absolute.

Realize it can in some circumstances be purchased cheaper but hey it's free home delivery, available now and a good enough price to hopefully not have any major price regrets…standing by for 50% stock-taking clearance sale, lol :-).

Is this cash back for real? can someone validate?

  • Doesn't seem to work for accessories/spares? Looking for a new battery.

  • Is the absolute a lot better than the animal v6 handstick? I just picked the animal v6 handstick up today from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/203008. Is it worth paying $225.15 more for it and get the animal stick refunded at Masters?

    • +1

If you had decided that the animal would suit your needs, then probably not. The Masters deal was a good one I reckon, but I missed it. For our house I had previously decided the absolute may be better but who really knows.
The animal seems a good all-rounder and $225 is a lot of money.

I did return my Animal for an Absolute (actually, I sold it).
Absolute has the same motor, but a supposedly better motor head and the extra fluffy head. The Absolute also has a removable filter.

However, personally I would suggest you stick with the animal.
        1) you got a great deal on the Animal
        2) both have the exact same motor
        3) the absolute motor head is meant to be better, but I personally really liked the Animal head. I think it is a bit smaller and fitted under the couch better.
        4) the removal filter on the Absolute falls off and there a many complaints on Internet about this.
        5) the fluffy head is really only good for dusty wooden floors. With little kids, we rarely use the fluffy head as their mess is not suitable.

They really are both good, but I would keep your $225 for something else.

        • Thank you for your comment I noticed that Brisbane has the food and wine show in October so if I bought the absolute at 35% off it would be $135.25 more than what I paid for the animal. Is the absolute worth $135.25 more than the animal?

Do you find the animal head sucks up the same amount from carpet as the absolute? As I saw this on the Dyson website about the absolute.

Direct-drive cleaner head drives bristles deeper into the carpet to remove even more dirt. 75% more brush bar power than the Dyson V6 animal vacuum.
I only have tiles and carpet in my house no wooden floors.

        • @sweetsarz: I got the 35% off deal at the Melbourne show, that is why I upgraded. It is probably worth the extra $135.

I was sucked in to the 75% more brush power idea and it does work really good, but on our thick carpet it is harder to use the Direct Drive head. It cleans well but I call only pull the vacuum, not push it. With the standard head that comes with the Animal I could push and pull. They both seam to clean similar.

The fluffy should also work well on your tiles.
The 35% off the Absolute is a great deal.
          Both are good, tough choice.

  • Not as good as the DC35 Animal from Amazon France for 173 Euro back in 2012, definitely not as good as hacking the javascript on the Mouths of Mums promotion in January 2015 to get a DC59 Animal for half price without a genuine code, but an excellent deal nonetheless! :-) :-) :-)

FWIW, the DC59 is a nicer, stronger (as in it sucks a lot more) machine and the one from the MoM promotion came with both a large and a small motorised head. I think the DC35 has a better build quality. DC35 battery is removable/replaceable, as far as I can see, the DC59 battery is built in. They're both excellent machines. We haven't needed a full sized machine since I bought these.

    • It's not clear to me what you're saying. Do you think your older machines are better than these?

      • I'm not really trying to 'say' anything other than offer my review of the two machines I own. They both have their good and less good points (neither of them are 'bad'). I think the older machine is more solidly built and 'feels' like it's better quality. The newer machine definitely sucks harder and longer than the older one though (it's a vacuum cleaner, sucking is good!).

The HEPA filter insert in the DC59 pops out and falls on the floor every time I upend the cleaner while it's not sucking, it's only held in place by gravity. I find that a bit odd, not the degree of quality I expect from the Dyson brand or the Dyson price. Otherwise, they're both good.

  • Anyone who doesn't want the fluffy attachment from their v6 absolute I will buy it off you for a good price making it even cheaper!

    • how much are you willing to offer for the fluffy head :)

      • Ha. Not actually sure as I didn't think that far ahead.
Dyson don't list some spare parts prices. The closest is the mini motorhead at $60, so $100?

    • This may sound crazy, but I could not get the V6 Absolute heads to fit on my V6 Animal. They look the same, bit just would not fit.

I am not sure if this is due to the Powered Head has a powered stick. Anyway, please confirm with Dyson before you make the what should be a logical conclusion they fit each other.

      • I am trying to put it on a dc59. It worked when I tried it at Harvey Norman (v6 fluffy on a dc59)

        • Might be the direct drive head that does not fit as it needs power.

  • DC54 Animal Pro is currently $799 at Myers

I am heading to the syd food show early Aug…hope i can get it at 35%off that would be $714.35

  • Drat, just went to get one. Expired.

  • Missed out on the code… I wonder next weekend another code will be out for the Sydney show? Like DYSGFWS15? ;)
