Vodafone $30 Starter Kit $5 @ Target

190

Wandering aimlessly around Target Tea tree plaza SA found me $30 Vodafone packs for $5.
Since the same Kmart deal has ended, jump onto target.
Confirmed VIC and SA, so check your local other states!

P.S. they only had the old red square minimalist packaging on my occasion, both new and old should be $5

  • If it is nationwide, it is a better deal than the current Coles spend $30 and get one for $5.
The Vodafone packs DO NOT expire so if you get an older pack just check it fits your device (if nano sim you can get a free sim swap at vf store)

      Excellent.

What can other vendors learn from Voda's "never-die" SIM model?

PS Stop "Wandering aimlessly around" retails shops…

If you have time to invest, do so by looking into SA's plan to pivot to a Nuclear Energy economy.

Was it $5 on label, or is that just the price it scans at?

On shelf label it displayed $5

Had an old voda pack that had no expiry date and voda wouldn't honor it saying it had expired and sum1 else had the number so of course they do expire sometime. Don't sit on me forever.

    • +2

If it doesn't have an expirery date then it shouldn't expire!

If they refuse call the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman, maybe?

I have some old packs (some inside boxes with devices),
So, I'd be VERY interested in finding ways to trade Old Lamps (er, SIMs) for New. :-)

      Don't sit on me forever.

    • I would have fought that one. That's not what they're saying when asked.

This one is actually a concern to me as I have used Telstra for the last 6 months and have about 12 months worth of Telstra cards but I still have a bunch of unused Vodafone cards (perhaps 8 of them). I would need to alternate if it tuns out the Voda sims do expire.

  • Can confirm discount price is listed on shelf. There was one dated 2012 and one 2014. Both were $5

    • I thought they were meant to have no expiry? Or is that date of issue?

      • +1

Date of manufacture. Mine was 2012

    Picked up couple yesterday.

The 2 stores I went to(Knox, Glen Waverly; VIC), they were not advertised and was behind the main service desk counter in the tech department.

Only came up with $5 when scanned.

EDIT: Also got 2 versions, 2012 version with a full sized sim with no push out, as well as a 2015 with push out micro sim.

Can confirm that Target Center in Melbourne CBD have quite a few. Have to ask the sales rep to get them from behind the counter.

  • in newcastle they are advertising a money back guarantee if you are unhappy with Vodafone reception.

    • This has been around for ages

We have only had the annoying ads here in Newcastle for @ 4 weeks now. ;-)

Can we price match at kmart?

  • Nice

  • Can I activate them on pay as you go or 365 days plans?

    • +3

Online it's only on the cap, but you may be able to ring them up to do it; can't see why not!
P.S. I recall seeing the same thing asked on whirlpool and the above was possible I think

Can you use the credits for Google Play Store, like the Telstra ones?

    • +2

      No, you can't unfortunately !!

      • is anyone can tell me how can i use the Telstra Credits for google play?

        • +1

You have to open google play store on the device that has Telstra sim card. When making a purchase, choose Telstra billing as the option. Then put the mobile number, your name and post code that you used to register the mobile service. Done.

  • Vodafone reception for me has been poor when inside shopping centers or indoors in general.
