Did you contact them about the photos in your camera? It could be a demo camera.

watched a few reviews on youtube, seems this is more like an outdoor multi-purpose bag rather than a camera gear bag. Wouldn't the removable compartment make it harder to get your gears out?

yep! Brisbane store had 5 this morning and I am getting one delivered to my local that didnt have any. Just gave them a call and they looked up where they had stock.
I have this bag in 45L and it is fantastic. I paid $270 for it from Digidirect after nagging the price down from $320. This is a great deal, these bags are incredibly solid.
