  • For how many months do you get the 50% for?

  • Look, honestly can't be 100% sure but the ad has nothing at all about expiring in those terms.. it only says "Now only $10" (which makes me believe it's forever until you cancel.)

  • Well even without the 50% off, I reckon it's a terrific price.

  • Certainly is! I have a gift voucher here so I can sign up to them too (won it through freestuffday), and with my current contact with them they are very honest and professional.

    • Spot on! Spoken to them twice today, they seem very helpful. That the way customer care should be!!!

  • If I sign up for 2…is there free call with in same network like yestime from Optus?

  • Hm… not sure, it's via VodaPhone. Check https://www.savvytel.com.au/ or contact them.

    • Just called them >> no free call!

      • Aww bugger, it's still pretty cheap though

    • Skippy, I think these are actually the rates for prepaid customers.
The cap rates can be found on:
      https://www.savvytel.com.au/caps.aspx

For the $20 cap ($10 after 50% discount):

      25c SMS (National & International)

  • Good find! Have to call up & mention above code then they'll add your name to the list… no expire.
When my current contract expire (22nd DEC) then I'll sign up with them & get 50%! Simple & Great!!!

  • does this 50% offer valid for the $45 cap value as well or just for the $20?

    • Just for the $20 cap, although you could try ringing them and see if they'll do it for you.

    • Only for $20!

  • Can anyone please tell me how long it take to get the sim card when sign up?

    • I don't think it takes too long, I'll send them an email and ask.

    • oh my lord, I emailed them at 7:30 am and got a response within 15 minutes - "Postage is between 1-5 working days (all deliveries are posted from Sydney, Sims can be express posted for an additional charge of $5"

  • So from what I can summarize from this thread and Whirlpool:

    $20 Cap ($120)

50% off is only for one month

    Call rates on $20 cap:

    80c/min plus 30c call connection

    or 27 Five minute calls

    Sav Prepaid:

    25c/min plus 20c call connection

    or 13 Five minute calls

$20 on Isim would get you:

    39c/min, no call connection charge

    or 10 Five minute calls

3, $29 cap (if you only spent the minimum $20 spend a month) or Prepaid $20

    70c/min plus 25c call connection

    or 5 Five minute calls

    • Are you sure it's only for the first month?

  • I've just signed up two phones with Savvytel and have taken advantage of this 50% offer. It only applies to their $20.00 cap and only for the first month.
There is also a $20.00 security deposit payable which is fully refunded if you ever decide to switch to another phone carrier. I was previously with a 3G
company and had a phone with all the bells and whistles. My phone bills were forever increasing and got to around $200.00 per month. I've now gotten rid
of the 3G phone and picked up a $49.00 Motorola F3 which is as basic as a phone can get. It's got nothing. It makes and receives calls and brief SMS messages.
That's it. No camera, MP3, e-mail, video etc. I wanted a phone for what it was designed for. To make and receive calls. This is all I need from a phone and with
my $20.00 per month cap from Savvytel, I'm laughing all the way to the bank. I was paying for all sorts of mobile technology which I've now rejected. I don't need
it and I don't want it any more.

The Savvytel SIM card takes a couple of days to get to you after the account has been approved and the staff are very friendly and actually based here in Australia.
I got sick of speaking to someone in Mumbai. I'm a huge supporter of Australian home grown product and dislike big corporations which is why I decided to go with Savvytel.
You are also not locked in to a contract with Savvytel so you are free as a bird.

    • Thanks for the update!
