    What is this ?
Is there a bargain ? Please mention details in description, why you think its worthy of posting here

      vaguest deal ever seen

    • +1

This is to collect an individual information to make a credit file for them and update their details on their database.

any idea of what the offers are? Not really inclined to give a random company by details in relation to a banking product without knowing what I am getting in return.

    • The offer will be in step 4 from Citibank

      • Once I provide all my details. Hey give me all your money and then I'll tell you what your buying. How do you tell if this is a bargain or not. e.g. The special offer is a paper clip that you have to buy from them.

Will this place a mark on your credit file?

LOL I don't really know what the bargain is, its more like me having to fill in a survey.

  • There was a similar Veda offer sometime back…offers depend on individual…as i have too many cards, they said no offers for me now ….but my cousin got 1yr waive off annual fee and 24 months BT..

  • I guess the offer could be like this previous personal loan deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/173673

hmm reluctant to handover details to 'marketing' company on the off chance that I win the lotto and get a fee free credit card (or the like) for a year that I will then get rid of after that because I'm not using a card that asks me to pay an annual fee.

  • I tried this link a month or two ago, and got through the VEDA pages okay, to the Citibank Signature page which did say "No annual fee for life". On the final Citibank page, it said I had to click a button to confirm my address - there was no button to click.

Thanks for re-posting, but I'll wait until I hear of a few confirmations. If the offers are only for the platinum card, most OzBargainers won't be interested.

    Where's the free coffee ?

    • free coffee would have been better then the offer I got :)

quote "…no harm in trying…". Actually there is. It will clutter your credit report.

  • Veda is a credit check company and they based in North Sydbney. It holds lots of personal and business financial records. When you apply for credit card, loan etc, most likely Veda is the one that provide your credit score to the company to consider your application.
By giving them your details, obviously you enhanced their data collection and CitiBank get on hold to those trustable potential customers. And you get some 'offer'. You decide whether you want this.

Both companies already have all my details, so no skin off my back trying this.

  • booo… was hoping for the annual fee waived for life offer.

$0 annual fee in the first year, three times the points on domestic spend for the first three months and 0% p.a. for 24 months on balance transfers (2.5% BT Fee) with Citi Rewards Platinum Card

    • Was also hoping for the same!

In my experience if you call and ask to cancel your card after 11 months, citing the annual fee to retentions, they will always waive it for you. 10 minutes every year to save the annual fee is well worth it for me.

i had a free lunch today.
it was better than this deal

    • +2

Depends on what was in your lunch I guess. Raisin Toast and Vegemite ?

  • I don't like these kind of surprises :-(

  • Not really a deal, if you believe you should have a better deal just call the bank and ask, these offers don't provide anyone with a bad history to try to rectify it which I believe should be their focus.

You guys realise that Veda and D&B have the details of 90% of you anyway right?

  • I got a Signature CC with them but Citibank is kind of annoying. They keep calling me.

    • I get a few calls, but they are very polite, not pushy, and usually offering useful things such as interest free cash advances.

  • :( unable to generate vedascore…

edit: worked after using old address (just moved). no offer for citibank signature free for life :( only city rewards platinum

  • Citibank has the crappiest online online and mobile banking in Australia, doing simple things with them feels very cumbersome and to be honest is downright incompetent.

Just a note that at times I feel while their free for life rewards card is pretty good, its not worth my stress dealing with them.
