TigerVPN Lite: Lifetime Subscription for US $29 (~AU $40) @ Cult of Mac

80

Tiger VPN is offering a Lifetime VPN service for $29. The difference of Lite version from full version as I could understand is the limited number of servers worldwide (only 15 servers worldwide where as full version provides access to 61 nodes.)

Usual price is listed as $790 (96% off) :D
However, in their site Tigervpn lists their monthly price as $7.5 (if billed annually).

Features listed as below:
1. Provides top-notch security
2. Encrypts all your browsing w/ a 256bit SSL encryption
3. Includes 10Gbps servers optimized to limit latency globally
4. Offers access to 15 nodes: Amsterdam, Atlanta, Bucharest, Copenhagen, Denver, Frankfurt, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Miami, Montreal, New York, Toronto, Vienna & Zurich
5. Doesn’t limit your data; plus bandwidth health detection maintains performance at peak times
6. Includes easy-to-use mobile apps
7. Allows for a choice in encryption protocol – PPTP, L2TP, OpenVPN, etc.
8. 1 active connection allowed at any given moment (user must end an active session on one device before connecting to another)
9. Updates included and Unlimited device installations included

Compatibility:
1. iPhone 4 or newer, iPad 1 or newer, Android 4.0 or newer, Mac: OS X 10.7 or newer, Windows: Microsoft Windows XP or newer

I'm giving it a miss because no Australian servers.

      • It seems to have one Australian server in sydney?

edit: actually no Australian nodes. bummer

        • Australian server not available for the lite version unfortunately.

I signed up, getting ~230KB/s when connected to the US, ~130KB/s from Amsterdam (~700KB/s not on VPN)

          yeah :(
"TigerVPN Lite offers you lifetime access to 15 nodes (full-priced VPN offers 61)."

        • @ameel:

currently getting ~300KB/s via Amsterdam which is fine for me - I usually limit downloads to this speed anyway to make browsing/whatever tolerable

Have set it up in a VM to auto connect on startup, this combined with linux iso's being saved to host machine (after auto download) via shared folder is working quite well :-)
