  • Is the screen IPS?

  • -1

    Uses Mediatek MT6732M and IPS

Edit: FYI if you don't mind the looks then this is a very decent phone

    • Telstra ones are Snapdragon 410s. They are essentially Y550s with 8GB onboard storage instead of the 4GB.

    • Is this better than a Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE?

This is a secondary phone so just needs to be smallish and use Telstra 4G.

      • Its a snapdragon 410, it will be good enough for everyday use, especially when its running almost stock Android.

The screen is an issue though…………

      • -2

The camera on the s3 probably leaves this for dead

      • +1

        Less than half the price

        • THis is to replace a faulty s3 lte

  • so is the bargain the $20 Coles gift card?
also i assume it's locked to Telstra?

  • Catchy name. Can bet this will be 1G RAM for the cost.

    • +1

Yep. Processor 1.2GHz Qualcomm quad core CPU with 1GB RAM

  • I am looking for something to screen mirror with my sony bluray player. It works perfectly with my sony xperia z on android 5 lollipop. but would prefer to use a secondary phone or tablet for this. Anyone think this phone wud do the trick?

  • Memory - 8GB Flash with 4.78GB user space, plus up to 32GB microSD external storage

Comes with Facebook and Twitter pre-installed, plus the usual Android suspects. Not bad considering the bloat some cheaper phones come with.

  • +1

This is the phone to get if you need a phone to use as a WiFi hotspot on the Telstra network.

    • Am staying in a hotel all this week in Melbourne, and did just this. Two iPhones and one iPad hanging off this phone, I just recharged with a $50 credit.

Going great guns. No issues whatsoever. And to be honest, I think I might move from Apple to Android after having a little play with the phone itself.

      • +1

I haven't tried it myself but looking at the specs it should be a pretty snappy entry level phone.
A lot of Apple fanboys jump from a $1,000 iPhone onto $100 Android phone and wonder why they're disappointed.
So long as your expectations are reasonably in line with the cost you won't be disappointed.

  • No way.

  • Bagman hasn't stepped in with details of unlock yet.
    Bagman, Bagman are you there?

  • Hmm. Only 20 percent off, if you consider the gift card a discount (it's more like a discount with an asterisk.) Not bad, but I'd have hoped for a better deal on this. I guess if you use a 5% off coupon for doing the Tell Coles survey, it can be as high as 25 percent off.

    • 20% off for 2 months old is not enough for you?
