  • spotlight sells nintendo wii's???

    • …apparently so.

      • How bizarre.

Oh, and way cheap. A definite bargain providing the price of a Wii doesn't drop in the near future anyway.

        • I'm sure we'll follow suit eventually (price drop in accordance to the US price), but that doesn't mean that this is any less of a bargain at this point in time. :)

    • just asked myself the same questions

Somebodys email address is at the bottom of that link. Maybe you should link just the picture so your email address doesnt show?

    • I can't change the URL unless I contact a moderator on here, but cheers for letting me know.

  • I used to work at Spotlight, and saw some pretty weird stuff done by management. But selling Wii's absolutely takes the cake.

That said, something about this just feels fake. It's just such an odd move. Any info on the spotlight.com.au site?

  • Spotlight Bayswater is right next door to Good Guys. It's quite possible they've done some sort of bulk buy from them, or similar..

  • That is ridiculously cheap and convenient because i live across the street.

  • Crazy! Are they made out of cardboard and material?! ;-)

  • Looks like a "break-even-leader" to get people shopping on boxing day. I would call it a loss leader, but I don't think they would sell 3 units per person at a loss. Either way, excellent deal if you want JUST the console, but the myer/bigW deal stillbetter overall.

IMO All these game consoles are over priced and they make money on accessories too. Even though Wii is a good game console it lacks multimedia capabilities of PS3.

  • Image how much profit can make for the other retailers ? what is the price they purchased in bulk ? Poor Australian, earn less but always pay much more than the other countries.

  • A little off topic… But has anyone had any word on the Bonds jocks rebate?

    • Yeah, I got my cheques about a week or two ago.

  • You should probably include Bayswater WA in the title

    • I'd say that this is only for the Bayswater VIC store since I received the email directly and I'm in Vic.

  • is there a price match in other states?

  • Price match at Myer / DJ / JB Hifi / Dicksmith ?

    • Just imagine the look on their faces when you say you want to price match with Spotlight! ;-)

  • tried HN, DickSmith, EBGames, no one want to price match.

DickSmith Electronics Epping, VIC agreed to price match, then realised that they had none in stock, went across to JB Hi-Fi who price matched to $260.

Big thumbs up - I saw this post of boxing day morning and drove out to Spotlight Bayswater - bit of a trek from my place in St Kilda! Arrived there and was directed to the layby desk, where they had a trolley full of Wii! Very strange promotion but I am not complaining one bit!

P.S. for you bargain hunters out there, check out your local libraries and see if they have Wii games to borrow - the St Kilda Library does, you can borrow one game at a time for 2 weeks, saves heaps on buying or renting the games!
