Thanks to benjamin: "For the code box to come in you need to follow a link that activates it. For example go to http://www.finder.com.au/the-book-depository-promo-code and click their link and the box appears."

I stumbled across this coupon code after wanting to buy Maus (which is a great deal in itself for $19.07):

Hmm, I go to the cart and the checkout and I can't see anywhere to put the code in?

    • see my post below

  • The textbook I Need costs $276. FML!

    • 10% off and cashrewards would bring that down :D

    I got invalid code error!

    • Code worked for me. Just spent $400

For the code box to come in you need to follow a link that activates it. For example go to http://www.finder.com.au/the-book-depository-promo-code and click their link and the box appears. However, these are technically comission/affiliate links and are banned from Ozbargain. Its a great deal. Would be great for a mod to confirm its ok.

  • got an invalid code error as well. good thing i was only after a $5 book :)

The coupon code did not work for me when I only had a $12.73 item in my basket, but it worked when I added another item.

  • "Invalid Coupon Code" for $30 book. Oh well.

    • +1

Add another book and the coupon code will work. Remove the second book and the coupon code discount will remain.

I got a different code from Finder, perhaps the codes are one use only and you're supposed to generate an individual code from the Finder website?
Also the link from cash rewards does let you enter a coupon code (though by using a code from Finder, you may not get your precious 1% cherry on top of your 10% sundae but the Finder code is still worth it IMO)
    Process:
    1. Go to Finder, click on the link, generate a code
    2. Go to Cashrewards, use their link to get to website
    3. Order books, possibly win?

    • Cashrewards says get 5% cash back.
      This deal is 10% off
So does that mean 15% off all books? :P
.. far out, i bought 100+ books with the amex/amazon deal, still haven't finished those books and now it's round #2.

      • What was the amex amazon deal again?

        • Back in nov/dec 2014 if you had an amex card, you got free international shipping with Amazon. I found that most of the books on Amazon are cheaper by a huge margin compared to BD, however once you add international shipping, it cost about the same as bookdepository shipped. Bought shavers, hard drives, etc during that time.. Saved soo much money. Err I mean I wasted so much money, but saved if I… nevermind :P

Before you order be sure to search for your book at www.booko.com.au to see if it can be had elsewhere for cheaper.

    • Found another seller had my book about $1 cheaper thru booko, but no free shipping :(

Went with book depository. Thanks OP!

    • Yep, did this yesterday and found my book for $9.99 + free delivery from QBD, of all bookshops. First time I've bought from there, but I'm glad I looked at booko first, otherwise I'd have had to pay much more.

  • Followed finder.com.au link.

One book in cart, apply coupon, invalid, add another book, apply coupon, invalid, remove second book, apply coupon, invalid.

Sigh. Do I need to be already logged in? I've never used book depository before, thus don't have an account to log into.

    • OK I worked out what I did wrong. Works now. Thanks!

  • Thanks OP! Made a preorder for my fourth installment of the throne of glass, coming in september :)

  • Everything I want is 'currently unavailable' or on pre-order only wahhhhhh :(

  • Can I stack the 10% off and 5% cash rewards?

    • +1

      of course

If you use a proxy when ordering and set your location to somewhere in the uk you also get a small discount.

  • I just bought my uni textbooks 2 days ago! Dammit!

Yeah, another Buch Depository 10% off code. Thanks for sharing. Time to get in now before our evil government lowers the customs threshhold from $1000 to $20 and we have to pay exorbitant customs cearance fees in addition to GST and 5.5% import duty. So much for Liberals hypocrites extolling Free Trade.

  • hmm made an order a few weeks ago , might try and find something

Lol, saw today's OzBargain email arrive, but thought I'd just get my book ordered from Book Depository first before reading it. What a goofball!

  • Thanks, got it to work :)

  • Has anyone else been slugged with a foreign transaction fee on their credit card when buying through book depository?

  • "Invalid Coupon Code
That coupon code is not recognised"

  • Worked for me. I just added a whole bunch of random books in my cart, applied the code, then replaced all the books I didn't want with the two I was planning on buying.

  • Thanks for the tip. Still didn't work for me but while waiting for the finder link to load a popup appeared with the following 10% off code which did work:
    RFCDXHCE5CUW

  • Thanks OP - the code you posted didn't work, looks like it's actually a unique code generated by Finder, but it's still a good deal - I was just about to buy a book from them, so was great timing!

Bought hip hop family tree for $55 delivered thanks op!

  • Thank you.Worked for me on a $11 book.

  • don't forget abebooks.com.

how many times can you use the code ?

    • +1

I couldn't use the same code twice, but I opened finder.com.au in a different browser and it gave me a new code that I used successfully. (Clearing your cookies should work too.)

  • Thanks brotherrfranciz bought two peter rabbit books that i have been after for ages and for a great price.Have not used book depository before but all the reviews are mostly positive.

  • Coupon code has expired, sigh.
