I hope no one on here is stupid enough to use this crap…

    • That bad hey?

      • Would take too long to list all of the issues, but the short version is it won't make your PC "fast". Aaand don't get me started on how a "registry cleaner/fixer" will break your system.

        • Thanks for the reply. No one would really expect it to make their system faster, usually they just mean load times by disabling unnecessary programs, but one real example of a problem with this actual program would really help people out. (not just opinions please.)

        • @Jighuv: Unfortunately too many people go Googling on how to make their PC faster and end up with OptimizerPro and break their system. Majority of the stuff in these programs are inbuilt with Windows and any user that knows how to disable a program in startup will know how to do the rest.

        • @Clear: Isn't OptimizerPro, the one people go on about being potential malware, a different program to this one? Please provide some support about this program being bad please.

        • @Jighuv: Yes and surprisingly it does actually do what it says with a few little malicious goodies too ;)

        • +1

@Clear:So again, what is wrong with this actual program please? I want to try it and clean up my registery.
This program receives 4 to 5 star reviews where as the one you mentioned receives 2.5 star reviews. I'm going to have to neg your comment if you cant come up with anything.

        • -3

@Jighuv: Wow you are actually serious? This article will fill you in. The specific part that will help is this…

In reality, registry entries aren’t a drag on your computer’s performance. The registry is a massive database containing hundreds of thousands of entries and individual registry entries are fairly tiny. Even removing a few thousand entries won’t make an appreciable dent in the size of your registry.

These cleaners can very easily be wrong and delete something that is crucial to the OS or the software. It's like installing the optional drivers in Windows Update. There is the chance of something breaking.

        • @Clear: You don't have anything do you? I'm sorry I asked, I just thought you might be able to help people out, but your just pushing your opinion. This particular program might be good, it gets good reviews.
BTW, I never suggested reg entries were a drag, I said unwanted programs were and this program can disable them.

        • -3

@Jighuv: You asked me to come up with something and I produced an article from a reputable site and you decide it's my opinion? I'll just leave this here then. Have fun with your very clean registry ;)

        • @Clear: Sorry, it is a generic article that isn't about this program. I wanted you to show people a problem with this program, not registery cleaners (which is only one part of this program) in general. Thanks for the effort though, but apparently you don't have any proof that this program is bad.

        • +1

@Jighuv: This program is bad because it will break your registry. Registry Cleaners are the snake oil of PCs. There is no benefit and they often break things. That is what's wrong. Nothing more.

        • @Clear: So you dont like registery cleaners. Long discussion for a short answer. Cool! Now how about those who do? Is this a good post for a good program, it gets 5 star reviews? And do you even have to use the registery cleaning part of the program? You might want to give it a try.

        • +1

You are assuming these things. Where are you getting your info from? Most registry cleaners DONT break the PC. While the benefit of having trash taken out of registry and temporary files (Windows update temporary files, hibernate related, etc.) is not HUGE, whats wrong with having it done occasionally? I dont know about this software, just get the good old CCleaner. I have used so far CCleaner, TuneUp Utilities, System Optimizer Pro and my current favorite is RegCure Pro and they have never caused a registry issue. These things are not worth paying for so get the free ones.

        • @alikazi: Combination of online and my own personal experience working with a major MSP. They have the potential to break the system, especially with some types of software.

        • @Clear: On the internet, you will find people complain even about everything. There is even a website calling people of Sydney the worst things you can imagine. I am in IT and programming myself and registry cleaners never broke any of my PCs or my customers'. I think they are mostly safe.

        • @alikazi: Find a medical centre that's been using MD for a few years that upgrades to each new version, then run a registry cleaner on it. You will break the software guaranteed.

        • @Clear: Right. And thats what the average user of a PC is… a medical centre running upgraded MD. Yes, totally justified argument.

        • -1

@alikazi: That was an example of a specific program that does it. No need to be a dick about it.

    • This program receives 4 to 5 star reviews where as the one you are talking about receives 2.5 star reviews.

      • Yes and surprisingly it does actually do what it says with a few little malicious goodies too ;)

Read what I said. It cleans your PC, but it also loads malware onto your PC. I'm not saying it's better or anything…..

        • -1

Sorry to put you on the spot again but you still aren't providing links to show people this is true? Just one link to show people that this program, not OptimizerPro, does this please, pretty please.

        • +2

          @Jighuv:

Seems like you're hellbent on getting this. Go for it.

I have been in IT for years and when I see these types of apps all I can see is malware and ways for hackers to install crap or spy. I never install them and have literally never had an issue with malware or viruses on my personal systems.

The only thing this thing might be useful for is removing start up applications or services which can easily be done by running msconfig from the run prompt.

Wait.. you're telling me everything online is true? Dammit, better dig up that email from my Nigerian price, I'm gunna be rich!!

Link referring to the malware, viruses and unwanted content often loaded/bundled with Ashampoo: http://www.shouldiremoveit.com/Ashampoo-US-Toolbar-6199-prog…

Link with a user review complaining about installation of Ashampoo toolbar:
        http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/ashampoo-hdd-contr…

Here's an article covering the negatives of 'optimizers' and 'ram boosters':
        http://www.howtogeek.com/171424/why-memory-optimizers-and-ra…

Seriously guy, half those reviews are skewed by bots or are paid reviews. But hey, as mentiond above.. you're intent on using the program. Enjoy the email spam!

        • Finally, someone with some actual information, not just opinionation. Thank you Nametab.

The memory optimization article is very interesting. I will steer clear of using the software for those purposes.

I'm not too concerned about the other 2 links, on the same topic, though.
The toolbar seems pretty easy to uninstall, if it is bundled in this software. From what I can tell from my brief look at the articles you can just uninstall it from add remove programs. Possibly needs a malware scan to make sure its fully gone. But thanks, I may not have known about it's possible existence without your input.

Again, finally some positive input. That's great. People shouldn't neg deals without at-least some information backing their claims.

        • @Jighuv: I had plenty of information backing that registry cleaners are bad, but you kept on insisting they were my opinions. Doesn't matter what program it is, they're all the same.

        • @Clear: Enjoy your evening.

        • @Jighuv: I'm having a big sook atm :<

        • +1

@Jighuv: Mate, I still really don't understand your intent to use this program.

Many people here, even if they didn't post the links you liked, or responded in the exact way that resonated with you, have all said to avoid like the plague. The 'negging' is because very little good comes from these 'solutions' and it's fairly common knowledge to avoid these programs. Really, even those who are not adept with technology/computers will listen when someone says 'don't use it', and not use it.

I can't understand the logic of putting your system at risk via potential malware/adware/spyware, not to mention the major spam hit to your email, to potentially clean your system? In my mind that completely defeats the purpose.

Even now, you're still intent on installing this program, because now you know there's potential malware included, so you'll know to scan/remove it after? What if you miss something? I mean - is it worth risking your system, or exposing it to elements which could slow it down, or lower your security?

Or even better yet, with the time you'll inevitably spend blocking/deleting spam, you could invest half that time into doing a very quick Google search and the possible beneficial actions from this program, yourself?

          /rant

"Faster, leaner, more efficient" is sorta negated by the barrage of email you will receive.

Ashampoo ? I would lather not.

    • I see what you did there..

  • +2

haha i used to use this stuff when I was in early high school.

now I'm older, wiser and just struggle with a slow PC coz I still don't know what to do :(

    • Get an ssd. Will make your pc so much faster.

  • Most of the times, registry cleaners dont delete anything useful which means there is very low risk of a computer crash because of cleaners. You should use such programs to simply delete temporary files and old registry entries that would take a MASSIVE amount of work on your part to do manually. If you hibernate your laptop, it saves a LOT of data which should be deleted and these cleaners do all of that for you in one place. The good old CCleaner is free and works out fine.

Some other softwares "defrag" the registry and some "optimize RAM" which simply frees up RAM. This is useful in very specific conditions but nowadays the hardware of computers has improved so much that such things are not needed. In short, do use a registry cleaner. And be VERY careful installing any sort of toolbars.

  • Give it a try but get a new gmail account then delete it after confirmation because their emails are hard to stop.

  • Used a pirated version of this and no issues whatsoever. Even found drivers that I couldn't find after a win 10 install

  • is this the same as TuneUp Utilities?
i use TuneUp Utilities, not really all of the features but i just run the quick scan and 'optimize' it i guess you could call it.
i just found that one time i was taking a look at a friends computer, this friend is alot older than me so is not familiar with computers at all and somehow had managed to mess up his internet browser. i had tried many things to fix it but i just couldnt work out what was wrong and i just decided to put tuneup utitlities on there and go and behold it fixed it right up. no idea why but just thought i would share my story. sometimes these software do some good.
