(First submission) Just got back from Boxing Day Sales at Robina Town Centre, noticed that the Sony store has an amazing deal on the Sony Bravia KDL40V5500. Was selling it for $1000 (or rather, $998 or something like that). Considering the RRP is along the lines of $1800+, I figured it was a good enough deal to post.
Had I not already bought the BigW KDL32V5500/PS3 pack, I would definitely have gotten one of these.

Stocks are very limited (there were boxes all around the store marked "sold") and I don"t know if this is at all Sony stores around the country.

    Sorry, I didn"t note down the other sales. This one was the main front door offer and the only one I thought was a really good deal.

    Yes. Videopro or Sony Stores are doing this (KDL40Z5500) for $1698. I picked up the 46" which they're doing for $1998 on Xmas eve in time for the boxing day test. I love it!! JB said they couldn't price match, but they probably will have to now. WOW said they would, but they only had display models left.

  got NAPF in summer hill, sydney to price match this today. they even took an additional 10% off.

  1698$ good price though i think this means the z series will go cheaper in jb hifi
