  • Do you think that this can cover over scratched glass?

    • Do you want to SEE through that glass, later?

Looks like a texter, to me… Why can't we get Color of our choice?

  • anyone knows if this stuff really works?

    • +8

If it is anything like the one sold at target/big w then its a big no. Doesnt blend in and makes the scratched area look even worse than with just the scratch

Consumer report on a few brands. One looks to be this one. Basically looks like clear glue on your car.

      • So, it's going to be lumpy when it dries?

  • +3

    Don't waste your money

tried one ages ago. Doesn't work and does absolutely nothing. You get better results from using Meguiars' ScratchX, SwirlX and Ultimate Compound imo.

  • Use nail polish :D

    • That could be costly… ;-)

If you've got a light scratch, what really helps is a permanent marker which closely matches the colour of the scratched area, and ethanol.

Firstly, go over the scratched area with the marker as if to colour it in. Allow the marker to dry for a minute or so. Then, apply ethanol to a soft cloth and wipe over the scratched area and the surrounding areas.

Repeat this process until the scratched area can no longer be easily seen and blends in with the adjacent portions.

    :)

    • I can vouch for this method :p

The touch up pen works ok, if you squeeze a little bit out into a lid and use a fine brush to apply it carefully along the scratch. Works well to blend white surface scratches but if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail then it will still be noticeable afterwards.

    • "Hey, this is AU. We DRINK Ethanol… We don't WASTE it on our cars anymore."

      ;-)

You can get these off eBay for $0.99 AUD delivered, therefore this isn't a deal. Lower your price to beat the current eBay prices, then this is a deal, otherwise no.

I can't believe people use these. Maybe a really old car but the unsightly mess is more annoying then the original problem i think. I just had part of my car resprayed because the previous owner did such a crappy job on a small issue and it drew my eye to it.

Yes i am picky when it comes to my car. Little details matter on a car worth a bit. Do they really do anything, i'd like to know or is it about the person doing it too? Does it make it an even worse eye sore?

    • Oy! You know how much TASTY fruit we throw away for "cosmetic" reasons?

What does an absolutely "perfect" car finish really give you?

(When we moved to SA we were surprised to see that
"near perfect" Adelaide's Eastern suburbs' Messenger ad-paper
always seemed to have SO MANY groups for "Obsessive Compulsives"
listed among other "clubs & social events"…

      More recently:

CBC reported on the shock-horror an Aussie TV host evoked, ie,
after she STOPPED WASTING 1.5 - 2 hours PER DAY doing makeup,
as well as PAYING $200 per {week or month} <—can't recall which
for makeup products + / or services.

Do you want a spend your time in the company of a DUMB DOLL, or
a woman you can have an Intelligent Conversation with?

Even sex is better with an Intelligent Woman - sans makeup -
in my experience ;-) AND I don't get CRAP all over my body.

LOW-PAID sales staff were pay 30% of their earnings for makeup,
ie, TRYING TO ACHEIVE "THE LOOK" FOR THEIR JOBS(!)

Who wants people to live Low-Quality lives, due to "employer-
demands" for False beauty? Not me, for one. YMMV.

I embrace women who KNOW they are beautiful "as is" &
who put their AM time to better use, eg, studying to become
      Nuclear-Engineers or -Physicists… ;-)

@WomenInNuclear (USA, Canada, etc. Any in AU, yet?)

      • Are you referring to me? Fact: You talk about perfect, not me. What is all this babble, these stereotypical geralisations and assumptiins you make? I had a bit of my car resprayed and i put it into the contrant to be done. They gad intended to do it anyway. I paid zilch. Point was, these touch ups can make the original issue worse than what it was.

Hmm spending money on alcohol, pokies or whatever and caring about a car you have put your hard earned dollars into? Decisions.. Car enthusiasts show pride and respect and if it's their money, what's the issue? People so easily judge. Sometimes it's better to say nothing at all. Or own it.

  • Wonder why each photos try to avoid the brand name?
Wife nagged few weeks ago to get her from Groupon - $9 for two plus delivery She asked for four, I said two - want it or leave it. Glad I did so.

Git the DUPont one from Costco, what a waste of money and even ruined my paint protection in the applied area. Steer clear.

  • some stupids thrown egg on my car few months ago
this pen will help to cover that area?

  • Only good on toy cars like a micro machine or matchbox

    • +3

      Toy cars you reckon?

      Listen up Micra owners…
