  • Are you able to confirm, no returns on any of these sale items?

    • -1

Correct, no returns on sale items unfortunately, only full price items can be returned.

      • +1

        is that legal?

        • +4

          nope. http://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/shopping/refunds-and-returns/…

Generally, these signs are against the law:

          'No refund'
          'No refund on sale items'
          'No refunds after seven days'
          'Refunds on unworn items only'
'We will only exchange, repair or give credit notes'
Generally, you have a right to a refund when there is a major problem with something you bought. Stores cannot take away this right by claiming they have a ‘no refund’ >policy or displaying a ‘no refund’ sign. This also applies to an online store's refunds and returns policy.

A store may display a sign saying ‘No refunds will be given if you have simply changed your mind’.

        • -1

Nope. Absolutely and utterly illegal. Care to respond, rep?

        • +2

Dudes. Chill. There's a section for faulty items. They are trying to say no returns for change of mind for sale items.
The whole page is poorly constructed and word though, which can result in unintended misrepresentation that still needs to be remedied.

        • @geoffizl: Out of interest, nothing related specifically to this post, I have encountered an issue at a store whose used the "No refunds will be given if you have simply changed your mind", where i purchased a pair of shoes that turned out to be the wrong size (FYI, they werent for me) - they said that was inlcuded as a "change of mind" and refused to give me a refund.
What are your thoughts on this?

        • +1

I do not for the life of me believe they would not refund on faulty items from the discounted section if they are indeed faulty. They do not refund on change of mind as it is, even on non discounted items.

" Product purchased on promotion may not be exchanged or returned. Promotional product is priced accordingly due to being last in size or at the end of their run."

I also think the same as a previous poster, that the section of the site is a bit poorly worded.

        • @racerm911:
If you use some imagination, then even returning faulty goods can be seen as a change of mind. The seller could argue that the buyer originally intended to purchase a faulty item and then had a change of mind and returned it for a functioning item.

        • @racerm911: I guess it depends on what they "sold" you. If you walked in and asked for a size 10, but they gave you a size 9 then you would be entitled to an exchange.

If you asked for a size 10, got a size 10, and it turns out they didnt fit the person you bought them for because they wear a size 11, then the store can not really be held accountable for that.

        • @Cair22: If you do decide to purchase and have any issues at all, feel free to contact our Customer Service team. We can exchange your item for a gift card in the amount of the item you purchased which you can then go ahead and use online at any time.

@itsrockett: Can you clarify here if you are referring to faulty items or a change of mind?

For faulty items, the consumer has the right to chose repair, replace or refund.

Taken from Warranties and refunds a guide for consumers and business by the ACCC:

A consumer is generally entitled to receive any
refund in the form of their original payment. For
example, if they paid for an item with a credit card,
it is reasonable for the seller to give the consumer
          a credit card refund.
It is misleading for a seller to insist that a refund
          be issued as store credit.

Obviously if you are just referring to change of mind returns, then your policy is generous. I just want to get clarification.

        • @geoffizl: Yes so to clarify, any problems with the order like faulty goods then we can get it repaired, replace the item or refund you the total. If it is a change of mind then contact our customer service team and notify them and send the item back to us and we will issue you with a gift card for the amount which you can then go ahead and purchase something else. Hope this helped

@itsrockett: Thanks for that :) Yeah sounds fair, I am looking through the items on offer now.

        • Im glad I started a bit of discussion.. heheh.

Thanks to all for your input.

Long story short, they were able to exchange the item for a suitable replacement, but i did have to go to a fair bit of effort to do so. ie. ask to speak to the manager etc etc…

        • @racerm911: Glad to hear it all worked out in the end. You mentioned you spoke to the manager, am i right in assuming that this was an Instore exchange you were trying to do? if so then i know it can be quite busy at times and i do appologise for the trouble but as long as it was sorted out then that is great.

  • Do you offer in store pick-up?

    • Unfortunately no we don't offer 'Order online and pick up Instore'. All of the Back Catalogue is available online only.

      • Any free shipping deal? Thanks

        • Yes, if you spend $100 or more and use the code CONAIR in the codes section when reviewing your items you will receive free shipping within Australia.

        • @itsrockett: trying to make a purchase totalling over 100 (without postage) and coupon is not working…

        • @racerm911: It should be working, i would try clearing your cart and re-adding the items you want and then typing in the code and then clicking 'apply coupon'. Also be sure that you are trying to use it in the 'codes' section and not the 'gift cards' section.

        • +1

          @itsrockett: still not working.. BOOOO~!
Just keeps taking me back to the main page

        • @racerm911: not working for me either

        • @racerm911: I have looked into this for you and the code should be working now on purchases over $100 AUS.

        • @CV333: I have looked into this for you and the code should be working now on purchases over $100 AUS.

        • @itsrockett: thanks, it is!
