G1W-C Dash Cam - Now $39.99 USD ($55.35 AUD) + Free Mirror Pole Mount Delivered @ GearBest

260

Bought one of these months ago and buying a few more now. Noticed that when I checked out GearBest had added the mirror mount for free.

A warning though, it did take over a month to arrive.

  • Was just looking for one of these, thanks mate. There is a 3-8 business day shipping option for $4.21, so cheaper and faster than any on ebay

    • +3

Don't believe their fast delivery option as people said last time. I received mine in around 3-4 weeks.

    • +1

I concur. I paid for priority shipping with my last order, and it still took just under a month to arrive.

      • I got the G1WH, arrived within a week and a half, paid priority shipping.
But unit came damaged, small crack on the lens, still waiting to see what gearbest does.
        Paid shipping insurance as well…
maybe the rep will take notice here.

      • Mine didn't arrive at all. After a couple of months, GearBest have now decided that it is lost and they want me to pay 50% of the price to ship it again. Don't think I'll bother.

        • Tell them to shove it and either send it again for free or get a full refund.

        • @Gorian4: They said that I should have taken out the insurance. I told them I'd take it up with my credit card company and they could fight them for it.

        • +1

@grumpybum: So i actually got a reply and they offered either a free resend or refund, so as long as the next one arrives in good condition and time then i'm happy.

  • Is this better then the mini?

    • also curious. which is better?

      • +1

I've had both, mini has better video quality, but most importantly is smaller and hides away behind the rear view. But for the price, this can't be beat

    • +2

Which is the mini? 3 cams with "mini" in description.

  • had a similar camera bought from a web site, it just doesn't turn on any more… Should've bought from a local brick n mortar store for a bit extra. You won't bother to return it to supplier because shipping won't worth it

    • +1

Yep , plenty of fakes out there.

  • Aldi has this available on Wednesday. Not sure how comparable it is but maybe worth waiting for and checking it out.

Video Quality is terrible on those,

To the point where it's hard to tell what model cars are.

  • Almost posted a deal on this a couple weeks ago, but the bonus was only the "scratch" pen. Good thing I didn't as this is much better.

  • some vids on how to spot a fake g1w

I bought this one when it was listed on ozbargain few months back and it was genuine.
But now I want to buy this one G1W-CB Full Black for my second car - http://www.gearbest.com/car-dvr/pp_196898.html.
The only difference is that the color of the lens ring change from silver to totally black compared with G1W-C and looks more elegant.

Features & Price looks to be similar to G1W-C. I have only one doubt about Night vision as its not mentioned on its web site.

    • +4

See my Deal here from June. The G1W-CB is identical besides the bezel being black.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/200052

Really happy with mine. 0 problems.

      • +1

Yep, no unusual shipping delays, DOAs or other failures on the five units I bought through your June deal. They may not last forever but they're great units for the money.

  • Sorry to be a noob but where is it mentioned in the link that you get a mirror mount? Also is this mount any better than what come with the G1W-CB :

    http://www.gearbest.com/car-dvr/pp_196898.html

    • +2

Under "Buy Together & Save:" the mirror mount shows as $0.00. Both come with suction cup mount, mirror mount allows it be mounted to mirror like this.

      • Nice! Thank you.

warning: if you get a faulty, you will either send it back on your own cost or pay extra $20 to them for a new unit which you may never receive. and the faulty rate of this cam is not one of the lowest. i paid over $60 in total, what i have got is only a DOA! numerous messages to them, and even after i paid $20, i still have not received any replacement unit from them.

    • +2

I got my lipo charger (worth about $30) replaced with extra $2. They first asked me to share half of the cost which was $15. I told them that I don't have to pay more money to get my faulty product replaced (even their policy says I have to send item back) and I'd dispute to paypal if they don't give me a satisfied answer. Later on they told me to wait so their manager can approve to send me a new one with registered shipping at my own cost ($2). About 3-4 weeks later I got my charger and it works fine :)

      • lucky you. the case is currently open woth PayPal. i don't know if i can win and get back my $20. anyway i will not buy anything from this website. there are quite a few similar online retailers i can use.

        • banggood, gearbest and number of website which has same price pretty much operate the same way :) just make sure you pay by paypal and never pay them more to get your product replace. Paypal allows you to dispute up to 180 days

As good as the deal is…. I have just lost faith in GB's postage.. 1.5 months for a torch to arrive….and battery charger which vanished after 1 month and was asked to pay half to ship another. :|

    • +1

I think I ordered my torch in april.. waiting for another shipment now.

It would seem these guys have the ability to drastically slow down the speed of light.

      tee hee!

    • happened the same to me but they refunded. I think their policy says if you don't receive yours in 45 days they will refund. Just pay by paypal so you can dispute later on if you need to

  • Bought one of these a few months ago from Foxoffer, it works ok but in low temperatures (below ~7°C) it doesn't turn on until the heater is working and car has warmed up a bit. They said this is "normal" behaviour for the capacitor model in the cold :-\ . I'm in Adelaide Hills.

    • Doesn't work above 43 either - thought I'd cooked it, but its still going fine.

    • no problems in melbourne. even when temp is 0 or 40.

      • Which can happen in one day there ;)

    • Yeah I read somewhere a Canadian was having trouble with it in the cold.

  • Was he Holidaying in Melbourne ? :)

  • +2

Now shows up as $39.99? Also 8% cashback through Cashrewards
