  • any cheap unlock services?

    • +1

This place unlocks the LG Leon and claims if you find a lower price they will beat it: http://www.unlocklocks.com/

You might also want to check if it supports frequency of your carrier too if changing from Optus.

      • ■3G: 850/900/2100
        ■4G FDD: 700/1800/2100/2600

should be good for most 3G and 4G? but not the 4G plus version.

      $6.00 http://www.unlockit.codes/services.php Used him a fair bit.

      • Can vouch for this guy - just used him off your recommendation to unlock this specific phone from Optus. Worked perfect, thank you!

  • Any Chance they have plenty of stock? as I'm planning on buying one tomorrow, I hope there's plenty. I missed on the zte fit sale because of stock. :(

    • My local had just the 1 prior to sale, which i held.

  • How does this perform against Y550?

    • Same Performance

LG has more storage. Y550 has better front facing camera.

      • +2

Well, we should wait till it comes down to 50$ then.

The only complain I have with Y550 is low storage, so this mobile would be perfect for me.

      • sometimes being ugly can be a good thing

        • Did you get lucky with your ugliness brah?

        • lol..Y550 wasn't the sexiest on the block.

      • Leon nicer looking to and lollipop O/s, the power button is on the back in the middle.

  • Reviews on GSMarena aren't that good for this phone otherwise i may have considered it. LG Aka is a good phone, if you're willing to spend about 200

My life protip from now on, buy sub 50$ Android phone, use it for a year, then pass it out to younger family members.

    • Yes that's what put me of also…My Parents have one and no complaints from them I've also used it very fast mult-tasking, nice phone style but GSM Arena was full of complaints. I think we are getting now we want one at $50.00, it also comes with a $20 google play store card, i got one put on hold, i think i may grab it having already played with one. 8MPX camera also.

  • The complaints seem to be from people on metropcs. I think that some of then are more about the network than the phone.

    • Reckon this would be better? our version is a Y and theirs is an N i think. could be wrong.

      • +1

Not to be rude but a lot of the complaints are about autocorrect on the default keyboard and such. Very easy things to solve.

Sometimes these budget phones attract very casual users that tend to bag them a bit unfairly.

        • Makes you wonder, for $99 i do think it's good my mum paid $170.00, and well download a keyboard easy

  • I'm gonna buy one tomorrow for my mum. It would cost me $95 by using discounted Woolworths Gift card from Cash Rewards PLUS I received an email from Woolworths this evening Spend $70 and get $10 Woolworths Voucher to spend on groceries PLUS Bonus $20 Google play credit.

    Nice deal. Thanks OP

Please let us know what you think of it. Seem to be mixed opinions on it.

    • Welcome :D. I can confirm its a good phone with latest lolliypop O/S , I only was using one on Sunday funny enough and compared to my phone it was very fast.

  • Which is better? LG Leon or Telstra 4GX Buzz?

    • I would go Leon myself, has the Telstra got Lollipop?

      • Would go with leon for it has more LTE bands and i need band 1(2100)

  • Thanks OP might grab one tomorrow hopefully it has plenty of stock.

  • Purchased one today from Woolworths Pacific Epping (epping plaza). They had another 3-4 in stock. Lady behind the service desk had no clue (covering a shift) store manager sorted me out though. Phones for my mum. Set it up easily in about 30mins. Her first mobile phone ever! Gave her the basics tute and she hasn't stopped texting me. At $99 it's a ripper little phone. Got me thinking of going back to android. Totally recommend it as a burn or first phone.

  • Got one from garden city. No 20 dollar google play vouchers so they gave me a 30 dollar onr instead. Sweet.

  • What's the usual price?
