  • This speaker would be great for camping trips and days in the pool! Thanks Trent :)

  • i thought RRP of 149 was a rip off but $63 is a oz bargain.
Sound quality is really not bad.

    • +3

Lol you bored man? Cheers :)

      that second article is lols

Awesome price Trent. Remember guys that these UE speakers can be doubled up with any of a UE Boom or UE Megaboom (be it yours or anyone else's you may know) so are really handy at gatherings/parties; especially given the 20m+ bluetooth range and they're waterproof, so you can literally rinse them down if they get dirty. Also, easy to pair, and anyone can pair (and speaker software is updateable via the smartphone application). Battery life is insane, especially on the UE Booms, at moderate volume levels.
But seriously, these start at $110 delivered on eBay, $149 from DSE (still $120 after the 20$ off from the eBay sale) and ~$149 everywhere else. $63 is an absolutely killer price, and I don't know how JB is offering it or if it'll ever get this cheap again.
People might prefer the Bose portable speakers for their sound, but for only a slight edge on bass clarity, Ultimate Ears is blowing Bose out of the water (pun intended) in terms of design, marketing towards youths, and pricing.

  • Price beat with Office works (http://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/ue-roll-blu…) for a further 5% off!

    • -6

      Why are you promoting Officeworks?
Does that provide an incentive to other suppliers to offer us good deals like this?

      • +1

Not promoting Officeworks. just letting everyone know you can get a better deal from them using their brice beat offer to get the BEST DEAL.

      • +2

Poor officeworks, very rarely price leaders anymore :(

        • +4

Exactly! Instead people here think they are doing us a favour by stating on everybody's else s good deal that you can also get it at OW by asking them to price match.

In my view that's a poor strategy. Instead we should support those retailers who genuinely offer good deals. That will encourage more good deals.

        • JB would have no trouble selling these, and probably would just sell out.. I think the officeworks link is fine!

  • Surely someone at jbhifi has stuffed up the pricing on this ad. This price is insanely low.

  • +1

The bungee cord allows you to stretch the use of the speaker. I have been looking at this for a while. will defiantely buy one.

    • +7

What are you buying it in defiance of?

      • +5

defiance of bluetooth speakers without bungee cords.

        And autocorrect.

  • Is this deal in shops only? The price on the website doesn't seem to be matching the deal right now.

  • So between the UE roll or a Sony SRS X33 FOR $100, which should I go for?

    • +1

Depends if you need waterproof or not. Can regularly get Sony SRX-X3 for around $70 with Dick Smith coupon deals but it is NOT waterproof. I have the Sony and I suspect it will have more base than this smaller Logitech unit, but have not heard them side by side.

      • I ended up taking the plunge for the SRS-X33 for $90. Decided I can sell it second hand for around the same price anyway. Will try out the UE Roll come Thursday and compare.

        • Where did you find the X33 for $90?
          Sure it's not the X3?

        • @O15: X33 from cash converters. It's in perfect condition so I have no idea why they listed it for $100. That said as an Ozbargainer i. Brought it down to $90

  • Already have the logitech X-100 and the UE boom and i'll be picking this one up tomorrow also. Great price!

  • +1

Difference between UE megaboom and this for the uninitiated?

    • +4

      about 200 something bucks

      • haha

        I meant soundwise

Better to get two of these (to pair) or 1 ue megaboom?

  • I have one UE mini boom and one sony srs-x3 … I guess I will buy this one as well… (profanity), I have problems =(

    • Which one sounds better? I have the Sony srs-x3 as well, and thinking of getting this for the beach/pools/camping. I'm a sucker for these mini bluetooth speakers!

      • +1

the sony has more bass and sounds better, however its heavier and can't play while charging. Mini boom its easier to carry to places, but I have some problems with it when you stop to play some sound on the computer even if its only for a few seconds, it looses the connectivity and you have to restart it. I don't know why this happens, but found a lot of complains about the same problem.

I'm thinking about buy the Ue Roll and try to sell the Mini Boom, even though I heard in a review that the Mini Boom has more bass

        • mini boom firmware causes that. They never update/fix the firmware and there's no way to downgrade. I still use it with 3.5 mm jack on my laptop tho.

        • @echineon: Most of updates that I do always makes my electronics get worse, on speakers or android…

I wish the company at least made an effort to try to fix this problem…

  • Does anyone know if this works while charged?

    • The UE Mini Boom and Boom both work while charged. Source: I own both

      • I assume you mean "works while charging" ?

        • -1

No, he means "works while 'being' charged" :P

        • Sorry yes, re-phrasing my question - Does the speaker works while charging?

I know most of the older BT speaker do, but the newer ones are 50/50, some work some don't

  • i think this was a price error…click the link and they are $149…
    unless I'm going crazy?

  • would love to buy 2, but have a jabra soulmate. Really not needed

  • This price is a printing error. Ow will not price match

    • -1

Pretty specific for a price error. The math works out. Original price $149, save $86, price $63. All listed there, can't see how there's an error

    • -1

Not an error. I went into store today to confirm the price with the cashiers. They have confirmed it'll begin tomorrow.

      • +1

        See my comment below

  • Confirmed that this is an error. Head office has sent the correction out. Damn It! The price is supposed to be $134

ps. I work commercially with JB HI FI, and when I saw this I wanted to see if our AM would do us a better deal, he confirmed the above.

    • +1

      What a pity!

    • Damn, I convert $100 WISH gift card to JB gift card this morning, just for this deal.

    • thanks :)

      • And the web site is showing $134 (search for 'ue roll')

  • What's the correct price then? I was shocked to see this price as this is a very new item and hard to find it anywhere with even a minor discount!

    • $134

      • +5

i picked up this afternoon for $63 since JB HiFi enex100 (Perth) had $63 price tags on them.

        • Would you have a receipt for us to try to price-match please :)

        • @lovesozb: Yeah maybe they will still do the price early tomorrow if we show it

  • I'm sorry but a price error is where they put 'save $15' then accidentally list the price as $63. Here it quite clearly says save $86

    • Yeah, sounds like someone screwed up pretty bad. How annoying as I was going to pick one up.

  • GAHHHH! Does anyone know if they will still be doing it tomorrow if you are fast?

  • If anyone gets it from JB, or gets Officeworks to price match, let us know and post receipt!

    • +4

Someone already did above, I will do my best to force them to do a better deal, I mean come on $134 from $149 isn't even worth mentioning considering ow have it for $128

      • Yes it's gone from awesome to laughable.

  • Damn, I went in yesterday to OW not realising it was meant to start Thursday/today, put one on hold for today only for it to be a price error. Guess it was too good to be true.

  • Just drove to an Office works, they have a sign behind the counter from JB highlighting the error. Spewing was so keen on it

  • Lobbed in to my local Officeworks at 9am with a physical copy of te actual catalogue, in the hope of snagging a pricebeat.

Guy behind the counter was imporessed with the price - but when he looked it up on the computer, he frowned and said there was a message coming up saying "Not to pricebeat, as JB Hifi pricing error in catalogue".

    D'oh!! (Collusion much?? lol)

  • Anyone manage to buy one (or 10) for $63?

  • -1

I got one yesterday before it went live then went into jb this morning and grabbed another two. They didn't look happy about it though

    • How could you get one yesterday when the deal started today lol

      • My ozbargain mind meld

  • Dammit was super keen on getting a couple

  • Just went into JB and they did it for $63. Ticket price had changed to $134 though. Be quick!

    • Hey mate which store did you go to?

      • Indooroopilly :)

  • Picked one up for $63 at Mt Ommaney, the ticket was $63 but it came up as $134 at checkout. No problems getting it for the lower price, the staff were helpful.

    • Did the same, also up the road at Mt Omm. Thanks for the hot tip champ! :)

  • Got one from Springvale JB High at $63. They have $63 tag on the speaker.

I just bought 2 UE Roll at $63 from JB HIFI Dockland DFO. Price tag still shows $63 (not many left though).

  • +1

Finally managed to grab 2 from strand arcade cbd Sydney. They had $63 tags on it and the staff didn't seem to know it was a pricing error.

The jbhifi home one and Broadway didn't do it.

    Thanks for the post!

  • +2

FYI just to save anyone else the hassle - just spent my lunch hour going to the three JB Hifi Stores in Brisbane City.

All three had 'price correction' posters at the counter. Had a try at purchasing at each one (just in case I got lucky), but each time the Manager said the best price they could do was $125 each…

(The price-sticker on these at each store was all $149)

Well done to those that managed to get them at $63! :-)

    • Thanks m8, you saved me some time. Unfortunately we couldn't get our speaker ;/

  • Called up both the stores in Chadstone. Price is $134.

  • Boo, totally missed this one. Congrats to those that managed to get one.

  • They are wise to the pricing error at DFO at docklands in melbourne. They might do one but thats it. I got one for 63 and was pretty lucky. They had a sign up and everything about the pricing error still went for it and thankfully one manager was busy and they went to another who said 1 only

  • +1

Just picked one up for $63 at JB in Forest Hill, vic :) Scanned at $134, but there were a bunch with $63 stickers on them still. Also the shelf said $63.

    • Likewise in Hobart, recognised as a catalogue special, but didn't check the error. Poor choice in colours though…

  • Anyone tried to price match at other places? DS or Harvey?

    • Tried DS, got "Mate we can even come close"

Picked up 2 from JB Brisbane, called before they recognized the error so they honored it.

      • Damn, this was at morning ? So, no chance of getting one tomorrow at Brisbane CBD right? =(

  • Can someone post the receipt here for us to try at another store?
