Seems like a good price for a good monitor delivered, props to Original CTREAT20 post

Also Asus Turbo gtx 970 for $430 seems like a good deal to me at the moment with the falling aussie dollar seems like they are good price comparison wise. There are other models just type in gtx 970 or asus or gigabyte into kogan will give you some other GPU deals there

  • I thought $232.5 - is for both. Plz put price of GTX 970 in title as well.
Kogan really messes up price at ebay sale time. I just got i7 4790 from them a month back for $393 delivered.

    21:9 monitors suck.

    • There are good if you don't game and use it for multitasking.

    • +2

They are awesome and doubt I will ever go back to a 16:9 screen.

    • Why do they suck?

    • +1

They really don't. Souce: I have one, and many other monitors to compare to.

      • Video editing would be far more enjoyable on something like this than at 16:9 where you have a long timeline. Spanning dual screens with a timeline is a pain when scrubbing.

It is a very personal thing though. I work with people who like to have one 19" monitor because they feel it allows them to focus on one task at a time. I like to have an entire array of monitors because it looks like I'm doing something more important than trying to work out where I filed that email I need in Outlook.

      • For gaming they do…
Way to "short" in the height dept. Great price for that res though..
        I want a 27" 2560x1440 for that price! :)

        • I have a 27" 2560x1440 next to my Dell 3015W, and let me assure you, gaming is infinitely better on the 34

        • @Wally Simmonds:

No doubt, but this monitor isn't ideal for gaming…

    • no they don't. They look great, especially if you're watching a movie in the ratio 2.33:1, as it removes the black bar.

  • Any 16:10 monitor deals??

    • Not that i could find on kogans website, but hey didn't really look at all the monitors

  • that's cheap for IPS monitor

  • +1

Just keep in mind this monitor is fairly small for an ultrawide 609 x 287 x 55mm (without stand)

    • +1

Nearly jumped on this until I realised it's actually very similar in display real estate to my 24" Dell UltraSharp U2412M. The LG is a bit longer, but shorter in height. Will save my pennnies for the curved 34" LG drool.

EDIT: Instead of saving $1500 worth of pennies for the 1440p curved, I just went with the 1080p flat for ~$530 (after 20% discount, and 2.5% cashrewards). Pretty darn good price. 1080p may be sliiiightly low-res, but I feel that the incredible width will make up for it.

This monitor is equivelant to a 20inch 16:9 monitor in screen height right?

  • Thoughts on the Asus 970?

  • I'm desperate on opinions whether the Asus gtx970 turbo is worth getting versus the gigabyte g1 gaming gtx 970. Heat, noise and lifespan of card are important factors to me. I've been googling comparison websites but not much information is available.

OK I've found one. Specs are very similar and the only thing in question is build quality now.. I may just bite the bullet

      • I would say quality wise Asus is the better maker, i have had loads of mobos, gpus, laptops, monitors from them and they were all good standard but gigabyte is a bit hit and miss for me. Their mobo are alright not best build quality for the gpus tho

  • Just bought the LG monitor thanks OP!

    • no worries!

  • Thanks OP good deal. Just got one.
