Nearly had a heart attack seeing $734 ex HBA….yesterday I booked SQ flights costing nearly $1500 to the F1 GP, thought I had really stuffed up until I realised the dates started in October. Great price ex HBA

Cheers OP. Wifes 40th sorted :) While I'm at it, anyone recommend a decent hotel with a decent view for as little moolah as possible?

    • +1

There is a Holiday Inn at Clarke Quay which has just opened recently so that may be a safe bet? Of course, the Marina Bay Sands is still iconic with its distinct facade but it may end up costing way more $$$. Sentosa Island hotels are also popular. Singapore is so small, getting anywhere isn't really a problem.

      • Yeah thanks, that place looks pretty good for its price & location and of course we're not going to be spending a lot of time there so keeping it simple is a good move. My 'Singapore Accommodation' learning curve is currently a sheer cliff but your suggestion & AirBnB is slowly flattening that back out :)

No worries, have fun! Just steer clear of areas like Geylang or Little India as that is where the red light districts are. Near Orchard is safe but heaps of people around (that's where the shopping is, though).

    • +1

When it comes to views, Marina Bay Sands, Swissotel Stamford and the likes will be quite hard to beat. They're pricey though.

Try checking out Ibis Bencoolen. Personally love it due to its location, very central. It's under 10 minutes walk to the train station, lots of hawkers or restaurants around, few minutes walk away from Little India and so on.

      • Nice advice, thanks. A Harbour View Room (inc. Balcony!) at Swissotel Stamford is $252 as I'm booking so early and the 25% saving is making that very tempting indeed however saving even more and getting a $141 room at the Ibis is just as tempting as it gives us $111 more spending money each day. Tough decision!

        • The Ibis had almost unbearably hard beds when I stayed there last. I'd personally pay the extra for the Swisshotel :)

        • @brokenxsmile:

I stayed at Ibis Bencoolen in March and the bed was very comfy! I like it because it's relatively cheap, and comfy enough just to sleep in overnight, the rest of the time I was exploring :)

  • Not particularly relevant to this sale but I can never get the multi city function to work on this site
Not much point in having it really

    • Hi Nissa,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with the Multicity search. I just tried it then, and it worked fine for me. Do you mind sharing some details on the issue? (also, what browser are you using?).

      • Using firefox and when i click city from the drop down it just vanishes

  • Brilliant prices!

    No Perth? Lah.

    • Clicking on the last link shows jetstar for as low as $248, i don't think you have to worry there :P

  • a330s inflight experience is rubbish, SQ is light years ahead

    • The new A330 interiors are light years ahead of Singapore Air….

Found $515 for Perth with qantas but easily half that with jetstar/scoot. Sometimes i wish i didn't leave WA just so i could fly to Asia for cheap still..

    • Thats a good find. The cheapest I found on Qantas when creating this post was ~$700. I've added a link for Perth in the OP.

  • Do u get qantas FF points booking with IWTF?

    • +1

All bookings are made through the suppliers that we compare (eg Expedia, STA Travel, BestJet etc). I searched briefly on the Qantas site but wasn't able to find anything definitive on whether bookings through 3rd party sites are eligible. This thread on AFF indicates that you would receive FF points
      http://www.australianfrequentflyer.com.au/community/qantas-f…

      • Would be great to know if FF points + status is awarded. If not I would prefer to book from Qantas site (currently lot of tickets @ $554 return from Bris)

        • They are, just make sure to add in your FF number to your booking.

Note it books into discount economy, so it's 2600 points + 30 SC each way east coast - SIN and not upgradable.

  • Just tried BME-SIN 23/1-26/2 and got $1420 from iwantthatflight vs $711 from kayak on Qantas (a good price).

Any reason it's almost double? I've seen this before a few times, although I did get a better price to London a couple of weeks ago.

Even then I had to search on kayak over a range of dates (+- 3 days function) before plugging exact dates into iwantthatflight to get the better price.

    • Hi Its4me,

When you did the search on iwantthatflight.com.au, did you do the search for 2 people? The prices we show are the total price for the airfare. I just did the search for 1 person and the price I got was $709 on Qantas.
      http://iwantthatflight.com.au/flight.ashx?&oc=BME&dc=SIN&dd=…

If I do the search for 2 people, then the price I am shown is $1420
      http://iwantthatflight.com.au/flight.ashx?&oc=BME&dc=SIN&dd=…

The reason we show the total price is to provide an accurate amount if children/infants are entered.

      • Ah, yes, that's what I did (2 people). Probably also the last time your price came out double … enough to confuse me anyway.

Better date range searches would be useful, however (as per kayak). The month at a time searches only seem to offer prices on busier routes.

        • We are looking at ways to improve the month at a time pages on less popular routes. The kayak method is interesting & we might use something like that.

  • I can't find cheap flights from Sydney. I tried late oct returning 5th November but cheapest is $700+.

    Is it sold out already?

  • Hi rep, can you find me flight from Sydney to Singapore between 5jan-20feb. I would like to go for 10days but I can't find with that price. Pls pm me, Cheers.

    • The dates of the sale are:

      05 Oct 2015 to 13 Nov 2015
      26 Apr 2016 to 12 Jun 2016
      18 Jan 2016 to 24 Mar 2016

So unfortunately 5Jan is not covered.

      • Will you be able to find me after 18 jan? As most of them showing 800-900
        Thanks in advanced

      • Btw, what is the best way to search? Do I search for one way depart then find the return? Or do both way at the same time? Thanks.

        • I don't think Qantas has released cheap flights for those particular dates (departing 18/Jan-20/Feb returning after 10 days).

You can see there are a lot of Qantas flights here:
          http://iwantthatflight.com.au/x2SYDSIN-Flights-from-Sydney-t…
which is roughly your flight dates. The cheapest is $772.

        • @IWantThatFlight: I thought thats what you bargain in here "Qantas is having a Singapore Flash Sale. Travel dates Jan - Jun 2016."?

        • @Chopel: Qantas do not have the cheapest fares for all dates within the sale period. The travel dates for an airfare sale often span over 1-2 months, but the cheapest fares are usually on Tues/Wed/Thurs with Fri/Sat/Sat being more expensive. Also, public holidays (& school holidays) are usually not included though they may fall within the sale period.

        • @IWantThatFlight: how about Singapore Airlines? As I don't want to go with other airlines.

  • +1

Serious question, what do you do there?

I've been there for 2 weeks earlier this year. Definitely not a place for backpackers as they just use it as a stop over. Felt like I "did everything" in less than 2 weeks..

What do YOU like to do there?

    • I was a backpacker there for 5 days and found it to be too much. Not much to see really. Food is amazing though!

    • I wouldn't do two weeks. Depends on what you like to do. Touristy stuff like Sentosa Island, Universal Studios, hanging out at the beachside clubs etc. Gardens by the Bay takes up a whole day. So does the Zoo with it's various Safaris and River Cruise etc. Then exploring Chinatown, Little India etc can be a day each. Could go a day trip to Johor Bahru over the border too. East Coast Seafood Park for Chili Crab. Just depends on what you're after. it's certainly not a historic place like Paris or Rome for example. But it's a lot closer to travel to!

  • Hey Store Rep.

Any hot deals like this from SYD to BKK ???

  • I'm not coming up with the same prices that you are showing….
in fact it is approx 700+ each way with qantas.
I'm after flights for family from Melbourne to Singapore in February. depart Thur 11th feb, return approx 2 weeks later. Flexible with dates!!

      • hi,
I tried for both single, and two people travelling.
still came back with prices for qantas that is $1516 (2 people melb to singapore 11-24th Feb) which equates to $758 per person… and nothing like the $513 you are promoting….?

price also comes up as $758 if i apply the same dates with only 1 person travelling.

your pricing seems to be referring to other cheaper airlines, not qantas as you made is appear…!
Please correct me if i'm wrong?
i'd love to book qantas flights to singapore for $513 return…
please feel free to prove me wrong and apply some dates (see post above) and i'd be happy to book straight away!!!

        • Not all dates within the sale period have the cheapest prices. Here is a date which has Qantas for $513
          http://iwantthatflight.com.au/flight.ashx?oc=MEL&dc=SIN&dd=2…

The travel dates for an airfare sale often span over 1-2 months, but the cheapest fares are usually on Tues/Wed/Thurs with Fri/Sat/Sat being more expensive. Also, public holidays (& school holidays) are usually not included though they may fall within the sale period.

          @IWantThatFlight:
Think you got the dates wrong in the post.

05 Oct 2015 to 13 Nov 2015 + 26 Apr 2016 to 12 Jun 2016 fits within the deal ($288 one way), but 18 Jan 2016 to 24 Mar 2016 is more expensive ($560 one way) according to the Qantas price chart.

        • +2

          @bangbang: I think you are 100% correct.

Don't know how I missed out the Jan-Mar dates when I removed the others :(

Good pickup, thanks for that. I've updated the OP.

        • @IWantThatFlight: That makes more sense!!!
we have a wedding to attend in February, so whilst all flights i looked up were midweek, it was in in February and i couldn't find the cheap flights you were referring to!!
That makes more sense now. Thank you.

  • Hey,

Is there the same sale for Singapore - Melbourne (return)? Thanks!

    • I don't think so, but I haven;t checked.

  • +2

    Hey OP,
Love all the deals you post! If you don't mind me asking, what's your business model? Is it mostly just ad-driven?
    Thanks :)

    • +1

Yes, it is mostly ad-driven. We are also paid a small commission if flights/packages are purchased.
