  • A reasonable deal… the 1000he was also $399 if I'm not mistaken a few months ago from COTD, difference being here the inclusion of the modem. However, now is a pretty bad time to buy a netbook because CES is on and new tech is coming out

    • Could be. I wonder how long this model has been around seeing as it uses an N270 and doesn't seem to be available from other retailers?

  • About time you can buy one with 3G built in for a reasonable price.

Very little info on the EM770V modem though. No 900MHz means less coverage in regional areas, and no 850MHz means no Telstra. Another thing to consider is whether we'll shortly be seeing 3G as standard with the Pine Trail netbook refresh.

    • You can use Telstra on 2100MHz in the city. Not that you want to pay Telstra prices in the city!

HuaWei's website says the module supports 2100,1900 and 900

  • Can someone let me know the diff bet this and Ausus1000HE

      Price-wise, they're about the same.

1000HE (typically) comes with a better battery (63Wh, as opposed to 48Wh). Quoted times are 10 hours as opposed to 7-8 for the 1000HG.

1000HE has the newer n280 CPU (clocked at 1.66ghz, and a faster FSB, from memory), which improves load times by about ~5%.

      1000HG has a built-in modem.

They weren't release all that far apart and were intended for different uses for about the same price range.

without confirming any details, the 1000HE is the older model, the HG has only been out for about 6 or so months, this is based purely on the fact that my old workplace was going to use the HE for onsite construction defects, then we found out about the HG which we were waiting for, thanks to the 3G we'd be able to include the GPS and live logging rather than having it as a straight up desktop … beyond the 3G, the specs should be virtually identical …

  • All sold out… saw this everywhere on the net lol

    • Were we first or were the other sites?
