Up to two whole chickens? Can they give you 1.5 chickens if they feel on the day they want to?

    • +1

I think what they just do is fill you up with the sides then offer you chicken until you're full or you reach the 2 chicken limit, which ever comes first.

They've already made me feel annoyed and I haven't bought their deal nor walked into their store :P

    Some of the fine print:
    * Valid for eat-in only
    * Valid for a seating of up to 90 minutes
    * Customer will be charged for uneaten plates at manager's discretion
    * Leftovers may not be taken away

    • +2

LOL what. How can they charge you, it's not a buffet
Those conditions are stupid and would make any Customer not want to go there

    • +12

Customer will be charged for uneaten plates at manager's discretion

Are the plates even edible in the first place ?

    • Yeah, I'm concerned that this is a clause they'll use to charge people extra on this. My wife and I certainly couldn't finish 2 whole chickens and large chips by ourselves. After all, they do say "challenge tummies" in the description…

see this makes no sense to me

you want the ozbb crew to sit there bathing in the ambience of harris park while eating chicken… oh which you have a 90 min time limit and you face the penalty of being charged for leftovers… which you cant take away?

      lol? is this a competition?

why not just let people take away so you dont have to hang around in harris park for longer than legally required?

There's an awful lot of unwarranted outrage on this page. These seem to be pretty standard rules for buffet meals. I got exactly the same treatment at 'Churrasco' on William St, Sydney for $49 per person recently, and didn't receive anything like half a chook's worth of various meats (I didn't like it at all, won't go there again).

The one thing that operators of buffet restaurants really dislike is waste. When the punters' eyes get bigger than their stomachs, they load up their plates, then don't eat half of it. The various 'threats' about being charged for waste is designed to stop waste, not to punish. I've never seen someone actually charged for waste, but I have seen that it makes folks more careful about taking more food than they can eat.

This is an excellent deal for an all-you-can-eat meal. Enough with the confected outrage, folks!

I think the problem is that this is NOT a buffet meal.

What they are doing is advertising 2 roast chickens and 2 chips with sauce, but they threw in the clause there to say that they can charge you more for having leftovers and you're not allowed takeaway.

Seems like they are trying to have it both ways of:
        1) limiting how much people with big appetites can eat.
        2) limiting how much people with small appetites can order.

This is a far cry from a buffet - almost shifty advertising.

It just means you get the chips and garlic sauce. And then they will let you order 1 quarter chicken at a time up to one chicken.

They are just trying to minimize waste as you would be surprised how much chicken gets thrown away after a meal.

I don't think there is anything wrong with what they are doing

        • @easternculture:
If they really care about wastage, they would let you takeaway the 2 chickens. Today's left over roast chicken is tomorrow's chicken sandwich or stew.

        • @blahman:

This is the offer they have for eat in

If you want take away, you are welcome to buy at full price

  • Up to 2 chicken.

So you might just get a chicken wing… There doesn't appear to be a minimum…

  • Conditions really kill the appeal of the deal, good for those they can manage them though

      • +1
