Unless i overlooked one, all were able to be click and collected too.

  • Does Japan use the US one?

    • nvm Japan is not on sale

    • 2-pin Japan and USA are interchangeable. It's rare to find 3-pin sockets in Japan.

      • I'm confused. Would Japan accept the USA 3-pin?

  • Why no love for the Japan adaptor??

  • Been waiting for this to come again.

    Cheers OP

  • Yer not sure why japan isn't on sale but it's $11.50 for anyone wondering

For those planning to travel to Malaysia the UK adaptor is suitable there.

    • and Singapore!

Thanks OP. Got a multi-reverse adapter because the grey ones I receive from SE-Asia never fit right and are not very safe.

  • USA out of stock

    • What do you mean? I checked a few postcodes and stores were still showing with stock.

      • I was on the mobile website. It didn't allow me to check stores, just said out of stock

guarantee you'll buy the adapters you need and forget to pack them, then be hit 12.95 at the airport for one.

    fact of life.

    • +1

I have a travel pouch for all the gadgets/adapters. I call it the rescue pouch, it includes all sort of adapters and cables that are used purely during a trip.

I'm going to collect my order and place it in my gadgets pouch.

      • +3

Then you forget to take your rescue pouch

        • +1

I keep my passport inside the pouch.

Don't think I can leave Oz without my passport.

to then only find out that the hotel provided them in the first place.

      • +1

this be ozbargain. we don't stay in fancy hotels that provide adapters.

        • +4

Wrong answer. This is ozbargain, we stay in fancy hotels at the cost of motels.

        • @googleyahoo69: that charge extra for the use of adapters because it wasn't included in the bargain rate.

        • @insular:
I've never stayed in a hotel that charges for an adaptor.

Massive savings! Bought the 3 pack one for 7$, now all I need is free air ticket to travel the world! :P

Can someone compile a list of other countries compatible with the USA, UK and EUROPE adapters??

  • This is probably a stupid question but I have never travelled to the USA. Am I better buying the single or double adaptors? Just not sure whether the power points in the USA are single or double ones.

    • +4

I only own single adaptors. When I travel, I take a 4/6 way power board with with me and plug that into the adaptor for all my electronics. There also happens to be an HPM Power Board Sale @ DSE as well :-)

      • Thanks heaps. Never thought about taking a power board.

      • That's what I came here to post - 1 country-specific adaptor, 1 6 way powerboard, and one plug with 2 x USB sockets in it… sorted :D

        • Need a deal on one of those cube thins that have the long cable so you can cable to the adapter and the cube has a few power points and even usb ports on it… So far ive only seen expensive ones

      • wow what a really great idea, I purchased 2 for Italy only to realize that they would only accept 2 prongs but I need one that accepts 3 prongs. I have a small double input multi country to US three prong one I can use with a AU to Eu adapter to solve the problem and maybe even take a power board too so I can charge more then 2 items at the same time!!!
YOu got my mojo brain thinking about work arounds.

Now to return the 2 I purchased which are useless…and Damn they won't allow me to just exchange the wrong ones I purchased for the right ones which would have solved my problem

but the idea of using a power board is splendid!!!

    • +1

It depends what you want to charge - a double adaptor seems like overkill to me unless you need to charge multiple devices with a power plug. If you've got a laptop and a phone, you really only need one adaptor because you can plug the phone into the laptop to charge it.

My tip for anyone travelling with an electric shaver - buy two singles. It's bloody annoying if you need to keep dipping into the luggage to get an adapter, compared to buying a small single adapter and leaving it attached to your shaver the whole time. Then you just use the other adapter for whatever you need.

Also, some hotels have power outlets in very poor locations, such as under the bed for the bedside lamp, or next to a corner - from the looks of it, that double adapter would not have fitted into every hotel outlet I've used.

Edit: I have also taken a powerboard, but didn't use it much, but they're worth their weight in gold when you're at the airport needing to charge all your tech at once before you get on a long haul flight.

  • Just ordered a bunch of adapters, plenty of stock in Canberra stores.

  • Why do you name it 'Bali'? Indonesia would be more make sense.. bali is not a country

    • Well the page for that plug just mentions Bali and not Indonesia as a whole, i was having trouble confirming this though so i just left it.

  • Thanks, got a couple single USA adapters and one double.

  • Thanks for the heads-up. I actually needed some reverse adaptors for stuff with UK plugs (plus have some American friends visiting soon) so this offer has helped greatly.

  • Thank you OP!

I'm travelling soon so great timing and prices.

  • So this deal is mostly still going, most products have now been rounded to the nearest dollar, nothing more than 30cents more except for the pegless line. One product even went down 10cents!.

  • Excuse my ignorance but they look like adapters with two pin aus plug capabilities, why not have the 3 pin plug as some appliances come with three pin heads? Isnt the third bottom pin for grounding? ?

Some like the 3 pack adapter dont show the front but i assume are also take two pin aus plugs based on italy adapters pictures??

  • Ordered the passport protectors. Does anyone know if this whole rfid thing is overcooked paranoia. Does close proximity scanning of credit cards or chip passports actually occur irl to warrant?

Also ordered the 3 pack adapters but confused as i ordered the Italy / Switzerland plug also. This looks like a standard two pin plug from what i could see so isnt it already covered by the Europe plug in the 3 pack? Excuse my ignorance… .

    • It does seem quite confusing. Even these sites show that Italy and Switzerland only share the C plug as common, the main European one too. Italy can also use F and L type, btu L doesn't fit the plug anyway. Strange

      http://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plug-voltage-by-cou…
      http://www.worldstandards.eu/electricity/plugs-and-sockets/

      • Throw in voltage… Ive been to hk, malaysia, usa and canada and just plugged straight in but reading the specs details these dont convert voltage… Wondering what countries use different voltage to aus and do we need a special voltage step down device for plugging into these adapters so we dont fry our laptops or charging our dslr batteries, mobile phones etc?

Or do these electronics take any countries voltage and have inbuilt reducers? ?(for lack of a better word for someone totally ignorant about electricity /voltage and electronics)

  • Got a 3 pack of adapters ($7), the passport case ($2) and a good little 2 pack UHF radios ($30 down from $80) ysterday with click and collect - went in store to grab them today and the woman abused me because "we don't get any money from click and collect orders" and people like me were the reason they were going out of business. Way to rain on my bargain parade!

    • I'd say that's worth reporting but i don't know where you would and if it would even matter..

    • I would have given her some advice - resign and find a company to work for whose policies she agrees with and will abide by without trying to make the paying customer feel like crap.

  • Bugger. Was going to buy a few last night for our honeymoon next month, but got side-tracked. Remembered this morning and now they've all gone back up in price!

    • Ah sorry! I should of put an expiry back on again.

    • Happened to me with sales many a time. Especially booking flights l. Now i say just book / buy first, think later!

      • careful about booking flights on the run…Not all airlines allow you to cancel or change flights without paying an arm and a leg…. believe me I just went through it… purchased a ticket to Venice but later realized Rome would be a better choice…OOPS stuck with the Venice tickets as they wanted to charge me an additional 1/3 the price for two tickets to change them…..Etihad - if your interested in the airline.

I did the same for a Hawaii flight recently as it was real cheap only to find out that the accommodations in Hawaii were 2x the price of the Gold coast and all had very poor ratings for comfort and cleanliness. So I went to cancel and by golly they returned my money for those flights. Zuji was who I booked with that time, flying jetstar…

so just a warning be careful about booking flights in a hurry!
