  • the melbourne time frame is may - march, so almost an entire year but i can’t figure out how to get prices close to this.

looking at mid november to december.

Doesn't look like there's any sale fares from the start of October to end of January, probably a blackout date period due to the proximity of Christmas and New Years.

      • +1

yeah they're prolly trying to sell during the horrible heatwave season - now to September

having experienced that last year - no way in hell I'm going to Japan during the summer months - I don't want to die of heat prostration - I saw a guy beside me needing an ambulance for that - and that was at night in Tokyo !

  • +2

Cant get the costs for Feb/march period from Sydney->Tokyo to anything close either.
Edit: Nevermind, fullpost shows cheapest for those times are ~>$1000

Anything cheap from Sydney during school holidays? Pretty hard to do proper search.

  • Hmmm trying to find some flights during September from Melbourne, anyone else having any luck?

  • -2

    I only want direct flights

    • +3

There's always ANA from Sydney or JAL from Melbourne.

      • Don't forget ANA from Perth.

        And the usual QF/JQ offerings.

    • +1

I don't mind if stopover is at the fab Changi Airport. Would be even better if one can stay a few days before hopping over for the next leg.

    It would sound better:
    これを翻訳して読んでる暇があったら、さっさと予約しよう!

    • Don't forget これ -> 此れ, we need to go deeper into the kanji~

    • Just do a multi city/county search using any of the OTA platforms.

  • +5

It shows SCOOT. I thought it would be the Singapore Airlines. I changed dates few times, still showing Scoot.

    • Scoot is part of singapore airlines

  • +1

Great prices for Singapore, if you can stop over for a bonus Singapore holiday would be a steal, but otherwise nothing beats a direct Jetstar/QF/JAL/ANA flight, bit of a detour if just transiting through Changi.

  • +2

Even though I upvoted this deal, I think you should only do it if you are staying in SG a few days. The flight to SG is 8h and flight to Tokyo is another 7 (from Melb), add a few hours and do Europe instead if you will fly that much :-)

There are better connecting options (HK?) or a nice 10h flight instead

  • +1

Nothing even close to those prices from Adelaide for like 2 months in the middle of that window - more like double/triple those prices…

These 'deals' are pretty useless if you can't travel at completely arbitrary times.

Singapore too out the way if heading to Japan

  • -2

25kg luggage is insufficient for a Japan trip.

I was in Japan in January this year. Nice time to go, a bit quieter, it is the driest month of the year. Canberra winter is colder than Japanese at this time.

Amazingly I met some Ozbaringers while I was at teamLab Planets.

      must've been a klook deal

  • Still looking for a SEP 2025 deal, but no luck as yet
