  • Good price.

  • I question the quality, it's a great price… Possibly too good a price

    • $40 with paypal protection, worth a punt.

  • +1

any possibility for a deal on softbox lighting OP?

    • No enough stock for the deal on soft box lighting. Cheers

  • It's a good price, but these are only 2m tall. I think more standard kits go up to 2.6m.

I'll keep my + 1 vote, as still a good price if you only need that height.

The reviews on the site, if can be trusted, seem positive.

    • +2

Reviews for all the products seem "very" positive don't they…. nothing less than 5 stars for all the items I looked at… amazing eh!

  • Took the punt, thanks.

Available in green/black and white. But why green? Wouldn't a blue sky or grey be better?

EDIT: is there a good software to use to add a background picture instead of the green backdrop?

    • +5

google 'green screen'. Heavily used in many multimedia applications. It's easy to photoshop bright green out as nothing is usually bright green on a person but blacks and whites are always present on a person in some shade.

      • +1

        OK Thanks.

      • +2

Do people use green screen to take photographs, and then remove the background, to make it into a transparent background photo?

      • but I've got a photo shoot with ninja turtles

    • +1

For video, Davinci Resolve (free) will do green screen removal. However it requires fairly powerful computer hardware (GPU and memory).

Uh oh, my wife is gonna kill me. Just placed an order for something I don't really need… :S

    • +2

I don't need it either but my wife is going to love me, she loves these things - well I hope.

Quotable quote of every husband ever.

    Thanks Rep.
Going to try and take some "professional" baby photos using my Canon 600D and amateur skills.

    • The main flaws of the cheaper cameras are poor burst shooting, poor image at high iso, less control of DOF due to smaller sensor. None of those matter as much with a studio setup.

  • Just wondering how well the white backdrop be used for projectors ?

    • Imagine it is an average white sheet.. that is probably the best you can expect.. they (at this price point) are normally very thin and do not block out any backlight.. I have had dramas with the black version I got off eBay unless you place it right up against a wall of some sort with no lighting from behind. It would certainly do as a screen maybe as a one off type thing, not a perm solution IMO.

      • Maybe you could put the white and green behind the black to block more light out.

    • +4

Fantastically, you could also save money on the projector by just using a torch and your hands to act out movies.

I'm having interviews for roles in my new movie: Mission Bargainpossible. Anyone interested?

    • +2

Only if I get to be Ethan Bargain Hunt. And I must have at least one scene where I need to run really fast.

    • Sounds low budget, no thanks I have standards.

      Call me for the sequel.

    • Is this some type of casting couch situation?

  • ordered 1, thanks rep

    • What price did it come up as for you?

      • sorry for late reply, its $39

  • I decided to get one as spare parts for my older ebay kit and I want to a green screen but the price comes up as $45.99???

  • $45.99 now? that was quick!

    • +1

This guy is a firm believer in Keynsian economics, apparently.

Perhaps if his next deal tanks, we will see a quick price drop?

  • Price seems to have gone up already?

  • +3

Oh.. desc updated… yeah sold 30 units but still have more for sale … click bait much!

    • +1

reverse economies of scale in effect. we should get tightarse to negotiate a COTTONARSE coupon for us

  • +1

How is this different to any of the kits you can get from eBay??

    • +6

The price on this one fluctuates rapidly

    • It isn't.

  • I bought this on ebay for $30 with more fabric a couple years ago

    • +1

That one is only for a backdrop sheet (no stands, one colour not three and they can't spell BLUE).

      • Lol Bule….."are you a Goooood?"

    • +1

So save $13 but get 2 less sheets of frabic and no stand?

  • Got a similar one from eBay. The fabric is very thin and almost see through. Good price, but remember you get what you pay for.

  • thanks took a punt at $42

  • TBH 1.8m isn't wide enough. The best you could manage would be zoomed in head shots for interviews, passport photos, that's about it. Maybe product photos of miniatures up to chair size also.

  • Any good deals on continuous softbox lighting? Need some for my chromakey ambitions.

    • +1

We will consider that, thanks for your suggestion.

  • didn't receive a confirmation email, but received a paypal paid email.. is that correct?

    • No

    • No worry. Just email us if you have any questions. Contact: [email protected]

      • Thanks, I found the email inside JUNK folder. Check the junk folder if you didn't receive it guys..

I asked Shia if he thinks I should get one.. here's what he said

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXsQAXx_ao0

    • 100% cotton muslin backdrop, too?

  • Also interested in a softbox deal, or even a larger green screen.

  • Larger! Just do it!

  • +2

Is this not an expired deal since it is sold out at the price it was posted as a bargain at? As such, given that it is now back to regular price it's just advertising.

  • +1

This should list as Expired… It is very misleading for those casually surfing OB.

    • Already reported, but for some reason was ignored….

      • I reckon it is still on sale but not for $40 or $42 as before but at $46, which is not a bad price either.
I missed $40 one but got it for $42.
I do not think I will use it too often but for $42 - why not.

      • FYI it wasn't ignored, we did mark the deal expired a few minutes after your report (you should've got a report resolution saying 'content modified'). However the OP removed the expiry about an hour later.

        • +1

that clearly set a very unusual precedent, in that the price of the deal changed whilst the deal was active…
Initially, the deal was $40 delivered, with a limit of 30 pieces…… A number of positives were gained and a number of 'good price' comments.
The price then changed to $46, and should have been expired.
However, then price was changed again to $42….?? for a limited time, whilst keeping all the positives and comments for the previous deal.
Deal was reported as expired, and apparently changed to reflect that status…. Then the OP was able to 'unexpire' at the later, more expensive price!!!? again, keeping all previous positives and comments!!

We now learn that the deal is sold out…… a very good result for the retailer I would say….. However, a very poor process.
Good luck to the 30 who got it at $39….. tough for the folk who got it at $46

        • @andy19363: As a new hand, your suggestions is much appreciated., and sorry for any inconvenienced caused. We will make improvement & do better next time. Kind regards

    • We are sorry about that this deal did not make expired in time due to the network problems at our ends, your understanding is much appreciated. Cheers

  • Awww, it sold out before I could buy it. Any chance of letting me purchase for this price?

    • It might, just keep in touch. Thank you for your support.

  • Arrived thanks

    • Glad to hear that! May you enjoy purchasing with us, wish you a positive feedback!

  • For anyone else wondering how on earth it packs up like me, Check out the 4th pic on the product page
