As mentioned, I bought this last year.
Replaced my Barracuda G4.
Same tech in terms of diaphragm and deflector.
The footprint of fins is smaller
But it does have a knob at front you can then connect to pole to direct the cleaner towards
Performed the same as the G4 for me.

Yes I do have stairs. Nope. But then neither did my original Barracuda.
My stairs are at the end of the line so it did not have enough to reach and go up before being forced to turn around.
I was surprised the times it actually climbed onto a landing I have though.
My G4 never did that.
Corners:
I have kidney shaped pool. I guess there are corners at stairs.
Does a good job
I have a gum tree above pool <sigh> and palms.
My experience, it did better job than my G4.

HI, Do you have any cheapie hose weights that will fit your generic hose?
So what is needed to make this work? I have a basic pump and filter and a vacuum hose thing I push around like a broom. Do I just plug it into the hose and it will work?

You may need an adaptor that fits the hose to the plate in the skimmer box.
Best ask one of the pool retailers / wait for pool rep to respond.
You will require a pressure regulator/bypass plate. Some cleaners use the flap on skimmer and some use a plate in the skimmer with the regulator attached.
