SanDisk 128GB 260MB/s USB 3.0 Extreme Pro $99 @ SydneyTech eBay

290

Hey guys, I was browsing around Sydneytechs eBay and saw a pretty good price for this flash drive at $99. I was on the hunt for a super quick USB and decided to pick one up. Cheapest price I could find elsewhere was $116.50 from other sellers.

I think they're having a Sandisk sale at the moment as I've seen a couple of other posts for them lately.

  • It's a good deal. Cheaper than amazon

About 10 years ago the same price would have gotten you 512mb.

  • I bought this drive for $119 a month ago. Great drive at a good price.

  • Good price!!

  • Been tempted to buy this to back up my main VM on but held back because of the price. Thought about getting the PNY but they seem to be too unreliable and people are complaining about their bait and switch tactics. This one should rip through since its SSD speeds here.

  • Anyone know if this is fast enough to provide a good Windows To Go experience despite not being certified?

    • at 240 MB/Sec transfer.. its about the same speed as a second gen SSD and tons faster than a hard disk. I think this is one of the fastest (if not the fastest) USB sticks out there other than sticking a SSD into a USB enclosure.

      • That's sequential speed though. For running Windows, random speed matters more.

"The SanDisk Extreme Pro outshone its comparables when we switched to random large-block transfers, boasting 229MB/s read and 66.4MB/s write. The Patriot Supersonic Magnum recorded speeds of 166.3MB/s read and 39.1MB/s write while the Lexar JumpDrive P10 posted a similar read number at 167.7MB/s, but with a much slower write speed of 14.8MB/s. The other SanDisk flash drive measured 177.6MB/s read and 43.5MB/s write."

  • is this metal or plastic?

    • metal

  • Got two of these already, they're absolutely brilliant! More than highly recommend these drives!

  • Sockpuppeting detected, but since deal has more than 10 votes, it stays published.

    • that's not crescent fresh!

    • I suspected it too. But didn't want to throw accusations around. How does ozbargain confirm sockpuppeting ?

      • You can always report any suspicion to the moderators by using the 'report' link. In fact this deal was reported by another user. Probably not a good idea for us to spell out our methods though - then those intending to sockpuppet will find ways around it.

    • Should replace it with this link :D

  • The secure access only gives you 2GB cloud backup?

My 256gb USB 3 cost less than this. $69 or some thing Aust.

Given its only 128gb I'm begging it. Don't care. No deal.

    • +1

Does your 256GB stick do 200+ MB/s read and writes?

      • -2

        Yes

    • +2

Care to share what you got ? Ive never seen a 256 gig usb 3 that does 200megs read/write for $69.

      • -2

        Pnr , I bought 2 x256gb …. Paid under 140 or so

    • +4

I've negged your post because you cannot get a 256GB, 200MB+ write speed flash drive for $69. That's just ludicrous.

  • Cheapest price I could find elsewhere was $116.50 from other sellers.

Same price here but only standard shipping http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SanDisk-128GB-CZ88-Extreme-Pro-US…

  • Does sandisk honour warranty for devices purchased on ebay?

I've had plenty of USB flash drives die on me that I'm not keen on buying a premium product which advertises lifetime warranty, only to then not have it honoured. Kingston have been great in the past, slow, but they will replace products that fail within the warranty period.

  • It good offer but Last time i get it around $70 very cheap. at wireless1_eshop store on ebay
