Really good price, if only it had Wi-Fi built in it would have been an instant buy. Thanks for sharing OP

I love my e-m5. Just make sure you buy some nice lenses for it, otherwise its potential is lost a bit.

    • Go for prime lens or if you have to go to zoom lens, choose PRO version. Olly 45mm is really sweet.

  • A mirrorless classic. Still capable of competitive image quality with the awesome micro 4/3 lenses. But I must say I hated the squishy buttons!

The best camera I have used. Bought one from JB a couple of months back for $310. The 45mm and Lumix 100-300 are the best lenses for this camera. Don't even bother wasting your money in the 40-150 (lacks quality and the mount is plastic too)

Bought the 12-40mm Pro lens and made all my other MFT lenses redundant.

      • I have 12-40, 25/45/75. In all honesty I don't use the 25 much now. Not sure why I've kept it shrugs

12-40 PRO should be able to replace all primes in that range.

    • $300 is about right for this old champ, but at $444 I'd rather stretch for the E-M10 instead. WiFi+Ol.Share app are a must nowadays. E-M10 II has been released, so keep an eye out for discounts.

  • a new camera is to be released soon?

  • Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark II has already released earlier in the year.

And? It's not exactly comparable as its over double the price.

just replying to alwayseric asking if a new camera to be released soon.
And btw, by using the combination of last ebay 20% discound, $250 cashback, cashrewards and TSR, I managed to get the mark II for much less (about $200, assuming the kit lens (14-150mm II) value is at its RRP $750). And that's Platinum limited edition.

You didn't reply to his comment. Is that deal still available now?

  • How's this go with the 12-50mm lens?

  • I got this exactly the same camera from JB Hifi (leichhardt) and was even cheaper back then $332 (June 2015).
