Where were you yesterday when I paid $118 for this? lol.

From us? Happy to adjust the price for you

      • No, no another retailer. It was more of a lament/
$106.21 is a good price for this.

        • I went for the $125 with $50 voucher one yesterday, so should still be up on the deal.. Phew!

          @Pobman:
          From Futu right?
They were selling this model for the same price as this ($106) a few weeks before the Ebay deal. Shows how they pumped the price during the voucher promo.

        • @King Tightarse:

Yes, but everybody was cheaper before too.. I was going to get it from local Umart but they increased the price as well so Futu was still the best deal at the time if you had a use for the voucher of course.

          @Pobman:
"Yes, but everybody was cheaper before too.."
Exactly. Its a perfect example of how these Ebay deals actually increase the price.

        • @King Tightarse:

Possibly… But I doubt Umart put their price up specifically because of a deal on eBay for one seller which they did not take part in. More likely exchange rates and supply costs for them than anything else.

        • Did you get the voucher straight away?

  • How easy/difficult is it to install this on a MacBook Pro 13" (2012)? Should I even trade my 500GB non-SSD with this 240GB SSD? I usually use up my space, so I may need to clean up thoroughly :(

piece of cake. unscrew the back cover, disconnect battery, unscrew more screws, disconnect sata connector, work backwards to put macbook together.

      • +2

you forgot to remove the existing hdd and replace with the ssd…..now you need to work forward again…

        • I thought that was the objective anyway. You wouldn't open up your Mac, disconnect some cables just for giggles.

Or sacrifice your superdrive and run the SSD next to the other hard-drive and use your SSD for the heavy lifting and use the 500GB for file storage.

      • Wait, so you're saying that I can actually have TWO SSDs if I remove the Super Drive?

        • sure can. look up "ssd optical caddy" and you will have your answer.

heck, infact, ive done it to an imac for experimenting. two samsung 850 evo ssd 1TB/each; my conclusions are, computer now runs cooler, computer feels faster, no noise from mechanical hard drives. but not a cheap option as i was spending as much on drives as the computer might have been worth; but i see it as an extension of its serviceable life.

    • If it's a standard Macbook Pro, it's a piece of cake to install! Just unscrew the bottom plate and the two screws holding your current HD in, replace it with this one, put the bottom back on and then boot after hearing the Mac boot chime, hold down Command+Option+R and do an Internet Recovery install.

Also, if you don't often use the DVD drive, you can spend $15 - $25 to get a caddy that fits where the DVD drive is and keep your 500GB drive there.

Did this on both my brothers macs a year or so ago.

  • Got 2 SSDs in the last few months … but I'm actually after a mSATA in a similar capacity (~240-250GB). Any chance on a deal for a mSATA drive?

    • Same. After a half-height mSata

  • Do these come with cloning software? I need to copy windows over (I only managed to get a win10 + nvidia portrait-mode surround setup working one in 10 times.. I need to clone it over as I can't handle dealing with installation of faulty nvidia drivers any longer)

    • We do have a install kit that comes with some software
      http://freeshippingtech.com.au/index.php?z=p&p=HDDCRU0003

What's included: Acronis True Image HD data transfer software, USB-to-SATA data transfer cable (laptop installations), 3.5-inch adapter bracket, mounting screws, and SATA data transfer cable (desktop installations).

      • Thanks. There must be better options though, I don't need the extras, just the software. Laptop drives come out easily enough with a few screws.

        • I have found disk utility in OS X to be a lifesaver. Not sure what options are out there for windows users.

I call crooks!!!… Who are you?
Web page has no required ACN, yet you are supposed to be "secret" trading name for a big retailer with $35000000.00 in stock on hand. There are only a couple of companies in Australia, from any industry, with that sort of stock level, and I find it hard to see them having an amateur website. To state this sort of stock level means it must also be the wholesale price. All a bit hard to believe.
Web page looks like it was made by an eight year old.

Permanent, blatant lying in left margin - "ebay 100% Positive Feedback". BULLSHIT you currently have a 99.1% rating for only 1787 sales.

YOU EVEN WENT SO FAR AS TO COPY THE EBAY STYLE AND COLOUR, HOPING TO FOOL PEOPLE INTO THINKING THIS 100% POSITIVE IS EMBEDDED, AND COMING DIRECTLY FROM EBAY.

  • Yeah I was all good to pull the trigger on 5 of these, then I noted you have no paypal facility, ie no buyer protection. Cant see anyone here that has received goods. All looks a bit dodgy to me. Pass.

    • We do have paypal i dont know what you mean

  • Do I need to buy separate cables if installing on a desktop?

    • Yes no cables included

  • :( and now the price drops start! any chance of price guarantee "match" OP??
