They were $67 the other day.

    • That may be true but not today. I need It today so I price matched at JB.

Not knocking, $77 is a good price but not the best price recently.

    • Ya, I got one for 67. Good price, good drive.

  • Do these support wireless transfer when connected to a router?

    • Depends which router? My netgear does it.

      • I have a Netgear from telstra so that should be fine. Any opinion on wireless data transfer between devices?

        • Again more detailed required usb 3 supported on the router. Which wireless band ac n or G? And does the corresponding device connect at those bands.

I Fail to see how this is a bargain, especially when 2TB sized drives are regularly going for about 100ish, why both with with something thats half the capacity, but not half the price??

To each there own, but I doubt you'll see OZBer's over this one.

    • Ok so if you needed to have 4 drives i.e to give to different people and you only need to give them lets say 800 gigs of data e.g here are my family photos/videos can you please look after this it will be cheaper paying $77 rather than e.g $135 for a 2 terabyte drive. Now does that make sense? So as I said in the post for those requiring smaller drives this will be more economical.

So you went ahead and negged me?? Just cause someone doesn't like so called "Bargain" you put up??

It's not a bargain. A fair price at best

They have been going for less all month long.

What you describe is ridiculous & a very very low percentage scenario. Who goes out and spends $300 on 4 drives just to give photos and movies to family and friends? If this was the case would they not supply the media themselves? better yet if it was only for viewing, and you would get the device back, it doesn't matter, you could use any drive of any size.

Don't be ridiculous. Your logic is delusional. Of course buying larger sized drives ends up being cheaper per megabyte up to a point. Your logic fails in that you would neg every single usb stick deal or anything else for that matter. Giving people data as a safety precaution is not a low percentage scenario it is sensible. I am not uploading 800gigs of large video files into the cloud and I like to have backups of my data thus 4 x 1 TB drives are cheaper options than 4 x 2TB drives. Grow up.

          now now boys,

          @lukeloop:
Will bet my bottom dollar not many people here will go for this deal.

Grow up? seriously, is that the best you can come up with. You want me to grow up cause I didn't agree with the deal you posted?

4 x 1TB drives to give away, what on earth are you smoking??

        • -1

@TilacVIP: Two are for me, one to use and one for my own backup. The others are for family members and as I see it another backup in case of a fire or robbery. These are not torrents these are family videos and photos from a number of years which are irreplaceable.

    • Know of any place to get it for 100ish now? Haven't seen a deal for a while.

      • They just had one deal 2 days ago for $88.00

True Ozbargainers here should not or will not pay over 100ish for a 2TB if they do not need it urgently, and lets face it who needs an external drive urgently.

        Again, just saying a bargain for a 2TB is around 100, a bargain for a 1 TB would be about 60 - 65.

        This is only my opinion.

        • If you are willing to wait is the key here. If you need something this weekend I doubt you will find much better easily.

        • I'll be up for a few portable 2TB drive for $88…. I'll buy 4 to hand out ;)

        • @lukeloop:
          If,if,if…!!! - facepalm!!!

No point in discussing this further, glad you feel you got a bargain. I reckon you paid at least $10.00 more than you needed to but who really cares, your money.

          Let's move on

        • I always check this site and didn't see this deal D:

I need more storage for my ps4 soon.

    • That's not a bad price.

    • Thanks Dacs. That 2TB WD a good price and a much better Ozbargain than the OP.

I'm sure most Ozbargainers would go the extra $12 for double the data storage and arguably a better looking more premium looking drive.

$77 per TB. Such a bad deal. Last time I bought a portable was for $60 for a single TB.
