Samsung Galaxy S5, 32GB, Japanese Version, $350 @ Ace Digital eBay

CLICK15

Quite simply the best price at the moment that I could find, for a brand new Samsung Galaxy S5 32GB.

Note that it's the Japanese version (model: SCL23), and so it doesn't have the Samsung branding; only the Galaxy branding on the back.

  • How is this model for use in Australia, band wise I mean?

be aware, a lot of people had problems with the Japanese version 5 months ago

    • Sorry, but where does it say that there's a lot of problems? Couldn't find any?

Buyers just beware of the frequencies. Based on that link above, you will get LTE for all major carriers, but not in all bands (So, you may not get LTE in some areas).

Edit: THanks for the link.. But I just think your disclaimer is not correct, that's all. I still think that this is a TERRIFIC deal, especially for those who wouldn't know what to do with LTE; I'd buy it myself if my phone would freaking stop working already.

Warning: This phone can not be used in Australia without installing custom firmware/sepending a lot of time mucking around. It doesn't fit any of the standard accessories and is basically a buyer beware.

      AH, did not realise this…

Why can't it be used in australia, when it can be used with a custom firmware?

  • Thanks guys! What is the best price for a "more legit" S5 to use in Oz? Cannot find OZB "compliant rockstar prices" with CLICK15.

  • Why does this need custom firmware?

    • No idea, but that's what ag act has said…

I personally don't think you need a custom firmware though, the bands seen fine in Australia

    • Sorry, didn't see your message. Because these are AU branded phones, and are never meant to leave japan. DO a search for SCL23, and you'll find all the information you need about it.
