Tokyo to GC $83 - Thanks to MITM

Only looked at dates in jan/feb which was excluded in the free return flight sale for Melbourne so this might be handy for some:

      • have you ever received the cashback from expedia via cashrewards?

  • Hey OP, I can't replicate your price for the same dates! Did they just update it?

Just checked, still working. Make sure you click multi city flight and not trying return flights to Tokyo.

      • Got it thanks!

      it's more expensive

  • Seems like an error that's just been corrected. Can't find through Expedia or jetstar (for flights to Mel) anymore. Any luck from anyone else?

    • Price discrimination.

    • Sounds strange, refer to my post down below. I managed to get one.

  • I get $122, how'd people get $87 on Expedia?

    • I was getting $87 via Jetstar site about 45 mins back now 'normal' pricing.

  • Someone is going to get denied visa with one way ticket, unless; you print you return flight.

I've just finished booking via Expedia, still $87.
2 Return tickets MEL-TOKYO : $872.42, not bad. There is a $50 payment fee though.

  • Ahhh these specials are too enticing. Had to book a ticket to Hobart in December anyway, so now I've got a MEL-HBA NRT-MEL multi leg… Here's hoping there's a Mel-Tokyo special in Feb coming up.

  • Looks like they fixed them.

  • Any other dates prior to 4 Feb?
It'd be nice to have the kids back before school starts.

    • Haven't seen any for Jan yet

    • Earliest I can see now is Feb 2nd, although there was some before but maybe sold out as I believe Jetstar Japan is having a sale to Australia which is causing these prices.

  • Something odd with Expedia,
As soon as I select more than one person the price jumps.
Do they only have one ticket at this price or is it some glitch?
Might have to book one person at a time.

    • could be that the last ticket on that price for the selected date

  • Really wished I didn't have to take holidays in Dec when everyone else is on holidays. These off season fares are amazing

Thanks so much for sharing this! Last night we booked Melbourne-Ho Chi Minh for the first leg (15/1) and Tokyo-Melbourne (2/2) for $460 per person through Jetstar including the $50 credit card fee.

  • only tokyo to melb? not to sydney…

    • +1

Had a look and the lowest tokyo to Sydney flight was $175, I think not as low because they don't fly direct.

  • I dont know if someone remember Jetstar had a sale a while back with $0 return flight from Japan, so what you are paying here is a fee to Expedia.

    Thanks op,
Just booked 2 adults and 3 kids with 100 kg of luggage from Narita to Gold Coast for ~$620

  • Is Jetstar multi city working for anyone? Getting a blank page

    • Still working for me

  • Expedia is garbage with support can spend alot on the line waiting to get through to them to fix bookings.

  • Looks like the return leg must be on a Thursday up until 17th March 2015 to Melb

    • Had as look and seems to include nearly everyday but you're right it finishes 17th March.

        Try june

Thanks OP! Booked Melbourne-Bangkok-Tokyo-Melbourne for $450 per person in Feb
Air Asia Bangkok-Tokyo cost $180, not too bad

  • I booked the one way fares from Narita to GoldCoast through Expedia.com.au.
    That's a great deal.
Any time I've tried to book one way fares from Japan through Jetstar it tries to charge me JPY for expensive price.
