  • mmm tempting. has anyone got experience with the vivoactive? i just bought a Wahoo Tickr X heart rate monitor that should be able to pair with it.

I've read of people having connection issues with phone via Bluetooth (once out of range, it doesn't reconnect until you reboot phone or watch). I haven't had that problem for ages.

nice watch, heaps more convenient for running than phone or retasking a cycling gps. i find the pebble more useful in terms of being a smart watch (if you can call pebble a smart watch) particularly in terms of watch faces, apps, viewing messages etc. i don't regret buying it though!

Great watch fantastic price. Excellent for tracking runs, swims and for giving you a prod if you have been sitting too long.
I've stopped using my phone to track runs, as you can get Garmin connect to sync with strava so runs are uploaded automatically. And then you see all your data on strava later.
I charge once or twice a week, which covers two runs and a swim.
BT very stable on iOS, less so on android but this may be due to powersaving phone settings. No need to reboot, just hit pair in BT settings in the watch.

  • nice find op

  • I saw this and was tempted but I decided a few weeks ago that I'm going to hold off on a new smart watch/activity tracker as I currently have a Pebble which I use for notifications and I use my phone for Tracking my runs.
I'm thinking that next year will see something like this that's a little more refined with its notifications and hopefully has the HRM built in so no chest strap needed.
I also read that there is a new GPS chip due to be released that is Pin point accurate and is very cheap to make so if that got added as well it would be my dream smartwatch.

  • Brilliant watch

  • I've had mine for 3 months and certainly recommend it if you're after lite smart watch features (notifications, weather e.c.t.) and great fitness tracking. I've had no issues and the battery life is amazing.
