Just a thumps up on Brunei for people who might not know.
Brunei has adopted Sharia law in 2014, which include punishments such as flogging, dismemberment and death by stoning for crimes such as rape, adultery and sodomy.

Royal Brunei Airline is wholly owned by the government of Brunei, so air fare dollars directly support those policies. Maybe a point to consider.

    Some further reading:
    http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/brunei-sharia-penal-code-gay-ston…
Rupert Colville, a spokesperson for the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, said the organization was deeply concerned about Brunei’s revised penal code.

Under international law, stoning people to death constitutes torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and is thus clearly prohibited, he said. The provisions of the revised penal code may encourage further violence and discrimination against women and also against people on the basis of sexual orientation.

I'm more concerned about the lack of alcohol on flights.

I'm going to leave the whole sharia law thing alone, but to address your no alcohol concern; I've heard Royal Brunei will let you open your duty free booze on the plane and bring you mixers. Just buy a bottle of scotch and tell them to keep the coke cans coming!

Fox pro the answer is all in whether and to what degree it is implemented. I am sure that some of our recent refugee laws do not impress Amnesty International either.
Intersting to know how many middle eastern airline countries have similar approach.
