Is it just me or does this BBQ looks like a cat with really long legs and a weird hat?

    • Yes, my vote is cat too

  • How would this compare to a Weber? Very tempting as the reviews look solid.

    • Not sure yet. I also have a Weber Family Q305 and am getting this to supplement/different cooking styles.
If I had neither, I'd likely go for this purely for the price difference.
Consider how you want to use it also.
If you are looking for just doing a few steaks, sausages or burger patties on the weekends etc I'd definitely go for this.
Not sure how the after sales service/warranty etc compares to Weber, but when you can nearly have 2 BBQ's for the price of one its a lot easier to look past that.

I have a charbroil infrared …… cooks 400g fillet mignons to perfection ……… once you've had infrared bbq …… there is no going back for grilling. I can't quite get smoke favour BUT it cooks the juiciest steaks, even very thick cuts and uses little gas.

      • I just bought one! Thanks for the advice.

I got mine in the last deal over a year ago, ss 2 burner for something like $150 iirc. That infra grill thingo is simply epic. I don't use anything else now. I wish you could buy that grill plate separately for good money.

    • do you find yours has even cooking temperature through the entire grill as promoted?

      • Its only the very front couple of inches that is less hot than the rest on the it grill. Its pretty even other than that, better than anything else I've ever used.

    • Does the one you purchased over a year ago have IR grill plate on both sides? I was looking at this years model but it only has the IR grill on one side.
How do you find cooking on the IR surface? I've been mulling over getting one for around 8 months and decided I would just do it while its on special.

      • the IR surface is a little odd to cook with.
I find i don't get a nice brown cooked look when i do my steaks, however they taste pretty good.
Definitely seals different to the hot plate.

        • Yeah the steaks come out stripy, but so delicious and juicy.

My old one has the ir on one side, and enamel plate on the other side. I wish it was ir on both sides.
