Not too shabby and would be a good inexpensive donor bike for an eBike kit like this: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bafang-8Fun-Electric-Bicycle-Bike… … but of course the higher power models would be a far better investment if only they were 'legal' on our roads ;)

I have not ridden since high school and refuse a helmet so what do I need to know about this bike

    • +3

Should suit you fine BUT most (if not all) states wont allow you on the road or footpath without a helmet so I hope you've got a big backyard ;)

Too cool for a helmet buddy?

      • -7

They look stupid feel terrible and anything on my head makes me heat up almost un naturally so yeah too cool
Is this a good bike for riding on quiet roads at night?

Riding a bike with no helmet at night time? Please tell me you're an organ donor….

You might want to add some flashing lights to the front and back.

For someone who hasn't ridden a bike since school you sure do have a strong opinion on the topic…

I commute to work every day on a bike and go on occasional weekend rides, there is no way I'd do any of that without a helmet. I've been doored two or three times and can pretty confidently say a helmet made a world of difference.

I will only be riding very late away from civilians and cars.
I am one of MANY who quit due to the helmet rules.
          I AM THE LAW

If you can't remember whether it was 2, or 3 times - I would suggest the helmet was pretty much a fail.

So what do I need to know about this bike

That this bike doesn't come with a helmet.

so what do I need to know about this bike

That you might be 112% too badass for this bike.

That if you ride it without a helmet you could crack your head.

Not bad considering it comes with Disk Brakes as well

    • +1

Disc brake, singular! It only has a disc on the front and that would be an entry-level cable model. Not bad but better if it had front & rear discs.

      • Correct

        Thanks

a bit late with the edit, so it wont let me correct my error

  • sorry, can someone tell me what size this bike is and what size (inside leg) this is suitable for? can't seem to find this info, this would be for my son, but need to know if its suitable as he is a little short.

    • +1

I have a 29er but bit more expensive (2K plus). I'm 6'2 and love these 29ers bikes for someone my height, I wouldn't recommend these for anyone that's a shorty though.

      • From someone who actually knows a bit more about bikes, what's your opinion on this one for the price?

  • "Maximum user weight 100kg" does not inspire much confidence for a bike that is supposed to be rugged and tough?

    • +1

You must be <this> thin to ride.

  • Is this another one of those "mountain bikes" with a sticker saying that it should not be taken off-road?
