Wii U Clearance - $30 Games (Including Mario Kart 8) @ Kmart

840

Kmart seem to be having a clear out of some of the older 1st party Nintendo games.

The following are $30:

  • Mario Kart 8
  • New Super Mario Bros U
  • Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze
  • Captain Toad
  • Mario Party 10 amiibo bundle
  • Super Mario 3D World

These games are definitely at full price:

  • Super Smash Bros U
  • Yoshi's Woolly Yarn (standalone, can't vouch for the amiibo bundle)
  • Splatoon

Also incase you missed it in other posts, Super Mario Maker amiibo bundle is $69.

Stock really varies from store to store so it's not a bad idea to check first.

Hope you get a good pick up!

  • just picked up cpt toad at firle, SA, they still have one left and about 3 mario karts.

  • I was waiting for those games to go on sale, checking Kmart every time I went there… finally they do and there's no stock… bastidos.

  • Altona Gate shopping centre at Altona VIC has still got a few copies of Mario Party, Toad, Mario Kart left. Pity yoshi scans @59

    • Is it Mario Party 10 with the amiibo?

      • yes and they are locked in the glass made thing near the lay-bys area. Picked up 1 last night at around 9:30 and they still got about 3-4 copies

  • It's not just Wii games, most games are on clearance. There's been a new wave of clearances this week that stores may not have updated new shelftalkers so have a look too.

  • If anyone finds a copy of DK, I'll buy it off you for $40. That's $10 profit you can spend on all sorts of bargains right?

I'm dead serious. Hit me up!

  • If anyone is seriously upset about Captain Toad, Target sells it for $47 atm

    • On a Target related note, I just got told "Target only pricematch sales, not everyday prices"

What a load of crap. Considering calling up national head office to complain about that as I believe it's a lie.

      • I read somewhere, possibly here that Target price matching is at store managers discretion. It wasn't a random comment, it was a compiled list of store price match policies. At least they are up front about it.

      • +2

Sadly I was told this as well and I did call up head office. They told me the policy is correct. They will only price match when they have a large catalogue sale where they state they have the lowest prices etc. The example they gave me was the Big Toy Sale catalogue, had to be identical/in stock and there were still a few terms and conditions.

Basically they flat out told me (local Target) "we don't price match" which I found to be pretty bad. The attitude of the sales person wasn't great so I called head office as I wasn't sure with their response. Since then I have tried at a few others and all say the same, it's policy.

Go ahead and call up though, I doubt it has changed since :/

I remember ages ago a lot of companies were "seen it cheaper? We will beat it by x%", now it's "we will match it" and with target it's "$#@! Off go buy it from somewhere else, we don't want your business".

        • Thanks for the detailed info.

        • Flat out telling they don't price match is a lot better than other stores that just make up some bs excuse why they can't in this particular instance

At the very least, at least it is consistent.

        • -1

You called Target head office over a $17 saving on a computer game? What do you do for a living?

  • 7 Captain toad available at mirrabooka. You have to ask - they are out the back.
Zero stock on shelf of other games, but no idea whats out the back.

If you've taken my advice to go there, don't buy more than 1 of any game. No ebay lamers please.

    • Urg… I didn't even think to ask if they had any out the back…

      • You were there? You weren't the asian fellow with his mrs, were you?

        • No, different store. Indro QLD. I bitched about it somewhere above.

    • If only I had seen this 2 hours ago. There is no way i can get there till wayy after work tomorrow. :(
Why do I miss all the Wii U sales?

      • Would have done you the courtesy of picking one up if I'd have known.

They are still out the back. Call and reserve one in the morning?

        • Thanks for the thought. I don't think they do that (put on hold) for things on 'sale' .. but I will definitely give it a go. FYI. Belmont had nothing when I went there at 7pm (though they generally had nothing anyway - the reason they can't sell games is they don't stock enough to make it worth looking most the time).

    • Ok. Gonna be late for work now, but I stopped by and was told they have nothing but 2 consoles behind the desk. Though the person there seemed surprised that they could even possibly have games back there… So not confident they checked too hard - but you cant argue can you (the phrase "a guy on the internet told me").

  • Nothing at Kmart Cheltenham (southland) just 2 copies of smash and 2 copies of yoshi. Interestingly they had tags on the shelf advertising the $30 price of mk8 so it isn't so secret it seems.

  • Edit, wrong thread

  • Any chance someone has a receipt for DK: TF?
Can't imagine any store will price match, but it's worth asking.

Is Yoshi also selling for $59 at Kmart? It's more expensive than that everywhere else I've looked (bought a Wii U this past week).

  • I just picked up Super Mario 3D World from Toombul shops in QLD,

They had alot of games but none were marked as discounted, I used to the self scan to confirm it was reduced to $30

  • Nothing at Robina, PAC Fair or Elanora

Kmart Hardy have any games for any systems ;(

    • Just up the coast Helensvale still have one Captain Toad @ 8:15am and there is a Mario Kart 8 disk in the drawer but no box on display.

Just got Toad, Kart and Mario 3D world from there.

      • Was Mario 3d world 30 bucks? Will update OP if it was

      • Nah Mario 3D land left?

        • Not on the shelf as only Toad and a full price Splatoon left out after my purchase, but I did not watch when he put that disk in the case so could be more in the drawer like there were Mario Kart. Call and ask them to check the drawer for a disk.

  • Melton, Vic had about 4 MP10 bundles when I left around 6pm :)

  • Wish I had seen this thread yesterday… I have been looking out for a long time to get DK:TF on special and have often scanned the one copy sitting on the shelf at Maroochydore with wishful thinking to sadly be informed it is $79… absolute bargain at $30 but what a surprise, it appears my Sunshine Coast OzBargain nemesis has beaten me again and all KMart Maroochydore now has is a copy of Yoshi Woolly World at full price. Grrrr!

Given how low KMart's game stock has got to in recent years I had pretty much given up on getting anything from there anyway…

Next time nemesis I WILL beat you though!

PS - I love how when you search game consoles on the KMart website it tells you "our complete range of new release games and gaming consoles are available in store" yet has a picture of the last gen Xbox360 and Wii upon it! Just shows their level of interest in this area.

I got the last $30 game at Glendale NSW (New Super Mario Wii U). They only had Splatoon and Smash Bros left (at full price).

    • Saved me having to deal with school holiday shopping. Cheers

  • Kmart Toombul still has SMBU, SM3DW and TOAD. Also got Fifa 15 Xbone for $1.50.

    • Also one MP10 bundle in the cabinet.

  • KMart Australia Fair still has a couple of copies of Captain Toad.
Can anyone post a receipt of Donkey Kong, please?

    • Thanks saves me a trip as already have that one now.

  • Nice discount if you can find stock.

  • Nothing in Townsville.

Just went to Kmart Logan Central. Very small gaming section. Hardly any Wii U games, only a handful of Splatoon and Smash Bros, BUT one copy of New Super Mario Bros, which I grabbed. At the service desk, I asked if they had any other Wii U games left and, guess what?, he had another copy of New Super Mario Bros in his draw PLUS one copy of Super Mario 3D World. I was after those 2 Mario games! yay!

ALSO, there was a copy of Lego City Undercover (Wii U) in his draw with a clearance label of $4. I obviously grabbed that one too. It scanned for $1.50!!!! I was getting really excited, just to be disappointed. He couldn't find the bloody disc for it! Maybe the $1.50 was for the box only, lol

Anyhow, I got my 2 games I was after. Thanks heaps for posting OP!

      Kmart Logan Central

The rest probably got stolen lol

  • was hoping to get mario bros 3d world. sadly no stock around me in wa. if anyone knows where i could find one, be glad to hear :D

  • Nothing in Churchill SA apart from Splatoon and Yoshis Wolly World. I even asked the staff for any other Wii U games, sadly no luck.

  • Anyone in the northern suburbs of melb know stock levels?

  • nothing at Kmart Arana or Kmart Chermside. Kmart Toombul has toad, mario 3d u and super mario bros u. I got the last mario party with amiibo pack

  • Picked up what looked like the last Mario Part 10 from Ocean Keys (WA). It was on the bottom shelf surrounded by Amiibos. Pretty sure there was nothing else, but didn't look very hard as this was the only game on the list I didn't have.

  • Garden City WA had Toad and MK 8 about 5 each this morning.
    Don't bother Kardinya and Morley

    • Just called em, and they told me they only have smash brothers .. for $30 and thats it (yep definately was told $30 for smash wii u).
I have it so good luck to others.

      • If someone can buy them for $30 I'd be happy to buy from you please!

  • Was anyone able to find or confirm Windwaker's price?

    • And if someone picked it up, can you please post a copy of the receipt. Thanks

  • If anyone tracks down a mario party 10 amiibo pack will gladly pay for it plus postage to SA :)

        • +2

You're in luck mate, just got the last one!

        • @montorola: Cheers mate, might have to see if any of the other ozb's are after one first, my mate in perth just came through for me found the last one at innaloo

    • +1

More than 10 mp 10 at kmart Armadale
also have 2 DK and 2 CT

    • Really annoys me that kind of stuff. A few people ruin deals like this for a lot of people.

Plus the fact that he's charging more than what EB have it at new: https://ebgames.com.au/wiiu-157938-Mario-Party-10-Wii-U

I mean seriously not even flipping it for say 50 bucks? Pathetic.

    • +7

Should get Ozbargainers to call him at insane hours just to negotiate the price lol.

      • I was about to suggest the same!

        • I dont see a drama if theres a pile and you or someone else grabs a few and puts a little on it for time and petrol…. but when its crap like that it really makes my blood boil, and the sad fact someone will probably haggle them down $5 and think they've got a bargain :(

    • +1

Quite a few went up on eBay today too.

The annoying thing with Gumtree is I can easily see what was had locally… Best not to look.

  • Anybody find any stock in Melb?

  • Warwick and Innaloo WA only had Yoshi and Smash at full price.

  • Kmart Ocean Keys in Clarkson WA has a couple of copies of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker , Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Mario Kart 8 as of yesterday.

  • Alright guys I've got a spare mario kart 8 and mario party 8 amibo bundle.

If anyone wants it, it's yours for cost and postage!

To be fair though, one game per person!

    • PM Sent.

    • I sent you a PM a little while ago, let me know if you still have it!

  • Kmart Ballarat (Wendouree) has very little, the only thing shelved was Captain Toad's and it was all gone. Seemed like they haven't had any of the other games for months as I asked at the counter and the helpful girl had a look for me - maybe due to the revamp of the store. I only asked specifically for DK and NSMB, though.

  • Tried to price match at JB Hifi but they wouldn't do it.

    • Was able to price match at eb games with someone's receipt

      • Do you have the receipt for the eb games that you could post? The guys at EB refuse to discount… Might be able to sway another eb games with an eb receipt

  • Belmont Forum WA has 2 Super Mario U games on the shelf tonight.

  • If anyone has a left over copy of Super Mario 3D World/Mario Party 10 amiibo bundle let me know!

  • MY local Kmart has no games on shelves, only consoles and the lego bundles. Probably they stop bringing games but keep on selling consoles.

  • +3

Nintendo to the power of Nintendo.

Buy 3 copies of Black Ops 2 from Target for 5 dollars each like I did.
Trade them to EB for 10.35 each (I'm on Level 3 EB).
Price match a copy of 3D World to 30 bucks in there, pay with your $30 giftcards from the trade ins.

Get overpriced Mario game for 15 bucks. Good times.

  • If anyone can post a photo of the shelf ticket label showing the discounted amount for MP10, that will be great… bigw staff says can price match if there is one

    • The shelf ticket has CLEARANCE on it mate. Big W doesn't price match clearance items.

      • Oh damn! :(

  • Not sure if the clearance is still running. Just rang a couple of stores to check stock and both said the prices were around $60/$70.

Edit: Scrap that. Rang a store I forgot to ask the price on and they said the shelf was saying $60 odd dollars but the computer said $30. So seems it's still running.

    • Good luck finding stock without wasting the money you save on fuel. I got the last mk8 in altona from behind the counter. no stock showing on shelf. No mario party 10 either

      • +1

I've found stock of Mario Party 10 only a few minutes drive away. Can't find stock on DK anywhere though, which is disappointing considering that was the game I was looking for most.

        • +1

Try Kmart Armadale. About 3 DK and heaps of MP10. There's Captain Toad too.

        • Armadale the place to be lol

        • @wtfnodeal:
I called them Saturday morning (after seeing your post from Thursday) and the 'kid' who answered went to check the shelves and came back to adv none were there. Thursday was a while ago now - did you see them since?

        • @Elijha: last saw the Thursday but if you dont live far from it should drop by check it yourself. Some kids are just too lazy to check and simpky say no. BTW, try say you reserve a Wii U Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze under the name Shane. I forgot to get it from the service desk but picked one off the shelf that day. So there is a chance they still have one out aside for me. Good luck.

        • @wtfnodeal: It's way outta my way unfortunately .. I would have gone down for both toad and DK .. if only Toad not worth it to me as pointed out earlier in the thread it's $47 at Big W right now. Thanks for the info though.

        • Found DK over at Armadale though it wasn't among the games. I was browsing the books and stumbled upon DK sitting next to a murder mystery. There are plenty of MP 10 bundles at Armadale if anyone wants to go n fetch a bundle and I think there are 3 copies of Toad.

  • +1

Help meeee I need receipt for Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze please so I get price match I'll love you forever

    • where from ??

  • If anyone has a spare copy of:

    New Super Mario Bros U
    Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze
    Super Mario 3D World

Let me know and we can talk prices ;-)

  • Hi everyone, has anyone found anything at Kmart's located in Sydney? I've already got MK8, but I'd like to get the other games too. It really seems that Kmart isn't going to sell games anymore. Bankstown hardly has anything.

  • +4

Thought I'd hope against hope and try the one in Brisbane cbd and was suddenly amazed to find a full stocked shelf with multiple copies of every game! Then realised this was a Kmart deal and I was in Target.
