Kmart seem to be having a clear out of some of the older 1st party Nintendo games.

The following are $30:

  • Mario Kart 8
  • New Super Mario Bros U
  • Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze
  • Captain Toad
  • Mario Party 10 amiibo bundle
  • Super Mario 3D World

These games are definitely at full price:

  • Super Smash Bros U
  • Yoshi's Woolly Yarn (standalone, can't vouch for the amiibo bundle)
  • Splatoon

Also incase you missed it in other posts, Super Mario Maker amiibo bundle is $69.

Stock really varies from store to store so it's not a bad idea to check first.

          Was amazed tbh. Just already had it so couldn't get too excited. DK:TF though I was over the moon about!

          The girl working there said they are clearing shelf space for new stock like Lego Dimensions and stuff. That's why I think if you know a store where there's a WWHD it'll be $30

          @lgacb08: I didn't like MK8 much either. Don't like the tracks, don't like the new items and don't like the character selection. I was cut when they dropped multiplayer from MKWii

          @lgacb08: I have the game, I love the game, and it's overrated as hell. If it wasn't a pack in game I wouldn't have even paid 30 for it, 20, definitely.

      They definitely don't have a lot of game stock for any system anymore. Having said that Mario Kart 8 and the Mario Party bundles aren't exactly rare at kmarts yet.

        from what I read Toad is a short mobile esque game .. $30 sounds like the right price for it.

      Captain toad is a good bit of fun. $30 is a good price for it.

      Mario Party is better if you want a multiplayer game. It's copped a fair bit of criticism but for 30 bucks it's not bad when you consider you get a $15 amiibo thrown in.

      Highly recommend Captain Toad.

      Mario Party 8 you could give a miss, unless you do a lot of multiplayer with kids.

      Didn't see any sorry. Xbox 1 and PS4 standalones were down to 460-470 iirc. PS3 was $199 but can't remember how big

      I checked the 2 Mario Kart 8 Wii U console bundles (one was pre installed and the other was game on disc) and both scanned at $399. The ticket price for the 500GB PS3 was $299 but I didn't scan to see if it came up any cheaper.

      Splatoon and Yoshi are still relatively new and Smash Bros seems to still be selling well. Mario Kart 8 had a clearance price of $59 on it for a while now so it was just a matter of time heh.

      According to the employee I spoke to it is a clearance of old stock. Their game sections are getting miniscule though so I dunno what the case will be in a year.

    FWIW when I was there, Wynnum in Brisbane had Captain Toad, DKTF, Mario Kart 8 in store.

    From talking to Kmart on the phone Mt Omaney, Gladstone and Sunnybank Heights have New Super Mario Bros U. That's it in QLD. Lismore has it in NSW (he thought that was in QLD).

    Quite a few QLD stores have Mario Party, Mario Kart, Captain Toad and to a lesser extent DK:TF in. Can't remember which ones exactly.

    Take that with a grain of salt though. Always more accurate to contact actual stores

      They had probably 4 more Mario Party bundles.

    Brunswick had a few of mario kart and toad. According to manager someone posted on Facebook as they had been at this price for weeks. They had 6 or 7 of each game that all sold this afternoon to evening including mario 3D land.

      Also Windwaker HD was $30 maybe a month ago. If it's still around I can only assume it would be even cheaper now.

          Yeah, I was at Barkley Square just last week and played with the scanners, Mario Kart was on sale, but it was not $30, it was like $59 or something along those lines.

    Just picked up Captain Toad.

    There is 2-3 copies left of CT and 1 copy of MK8 at Westfield Carousel, WA Perth. Couldn't see a special on the amiibo's either.

          @montorola: EB have already jumped on it and banned all staff from price matching it apparantly lol

          one of my mates has said most stores will withdraw them from sale / will bs that they can't match it as it's clearance (despite the fact this receipt does not say clearance).

          One of my mates however who does not care about store policy (I wonder why?… lol read the kotaku article its all true) has put one aside for me to pickup tomorrow and will match the price anyway :)

          @jonathonsunshine: well i've got bad news, went to pickup my held copy from my mate, to have the person refuse to honor the price, claimed I was frauding them and everything.

          Asked him to call my mate and he refused, got the worst attitude ever, accused me of "gaming the system" and that I had to have lied to the staff about the price.

          Got pretty annoyed called tea tree plaza to be told oh theres 4x copies there, tell them i'd like to hold one i've got a price to match from only to be cutoff and my call to be handed to the store manager who goes on to tell me they will not be matching kmart as it was clearance.

          Visit kmart tea tree plaza to be told its not clearance, they're listed on the system as the current price, none in stock someone bought every game they had that was 30, rang a few other shops including firle and inglefarm nothing. Rang EB tea tree plaza again and got handed straight back to the manager and told them i'm here with kmart now they've told me it's not a clearance its listed as their new price, manager starts to get extremely hostile at me, just keeps throwing every excuse he can at them, the kmart clerk took my phone and actually argued on my behalf calling out all their red herrings to then hear the eb manager swear at him and hangup.

          Poor kmart clerk was just being nice and trying to help, I think he went above and beyond, eb staff at both plaza and inglefarm were atrocious, i've already rang my mate from there to check if he'll be in any trouble for it, he says he wont but he's heard of a few staff being "disciplined" for not lying their way out of the price match policy at other shops.

          Nasty one, well if anyone gets a spare mario party 10 I'll gladly buy it off you.

          Show them the receipt without the clearance info (I know your guy said it wasn't a clearance but instore the pricing does say clearance). They're probably going to be a bit less scrupulous than EB.
