This'll go well with my Target suit.

    Is this a joke post?

  • This is actually a very good A$ price for this watch.

  • Can't afford it, but (in my opinion) beautiful looking watch. And good price judging by a quick google around. They make some really nice watches.

Well those who can afford this watch have no place here.

Why is that? Shouldn't everybody be clever with their money regardless of how much they have to spend?

  • I still have my Raymond Weil Othello 124 from many many years ago. Beautiful watch, incredibly thin. Battery dead at the moment and haven't got around to having it replaced as when I wear a watch it tends to be my Pebble!

    • +1

Take the battery out! Although it does not happen very often, an exhausted battery can leak. You do not want this to happen in you RW.

      • It hasn't been dead for long, but you're right of course. I'll take it in to an RW agent (it's incredibly thin - no way would the local jeweller be able to do it without risking damaging it) who can replace the battery and give the watch a service. Then I'll work out if I'll ever wear it again - if not perhaps I should put it on eBay! ;-)

    • Buy Automatic Watches then you will never need to change a battery again!

      • Heh. A mate of mine a few months ago had to ask me what the time was as his auto Tag had stopped because he hadn't worn it enough. I have a solar watch, but it needs to be put in the sunlight for a while every now and then….. I also have a couple of watches with 10 year batteries in them - they seem a decent compromise….. anyhow my Othello is about the same thickness as the leather watch strap which would be hard for an auto watch to achieve…. ;-)

        • yes the motion of your wrist keeps the auto wound-up. I have autos (TAG, Omega etc), some eco-drives (solar), some Kinetic (part auto to charge the battery) and grudgingly a quartz (battery) or 2 watches. Every time I change watches I have to reset the time, you can buy a 'winder' for auto watches which is a device that rotates them when you aren't wearing them to keep them wound up and on-time. I find myself wearing my autos mostly, something about a perfect little machine whizzing away under its own steam at the end of my arm amazes me! Good luck with your watch!

  • Pretty sure I saw one of these at Savers the other day.

  • How much margin the manufacturer has on this watch?

    • +2

      Less than Apple Watch.

    • Much less margin than most Swiss Watch Brands like TAG, Omega, Zenith, JLC, Panerai (Italian), Cartier, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Patek Phillipe etc

  • No manufacturer Warranty. Is this new?

    • +1

These are grey import, hence, local distributor won't support you.
Watches sold from authorised dealers is 2 years.
Maybe you'll be lucky, otherwise, good luck pursuing COTD for warranty.

  • Good price for a Swiss Auto. Roman Numerals not a big fave of mine though
