    excludes everything!!!

    • +1

      Lol yeah pretty much :)

  • +3

wouldn't it be simpler to just say excludes: Everything you want to buy.

    • +4

Or to have a list that includes what is on sale.

  • +1

    30% off deal over?

    • +1

      11:59 pm tonight.

    • 30% off deals just for the limited stuff they have on the Dick Smith Ebay site. This deals for the actual DS site on everything they sell, except for the above mentioned stuff

    • +1

At least I got my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 with that 30% off deal. This 14% off deal doesn't even include S2. Epic fail.

  • +2

    Any bargains?

  • +5

Very frustrating how their deals exclude everything. Makes it not really any deal at all.

  • +3

All the good stuff are excluded from a site-wide sale. No deal.

  • +5

Wow, the Canon MAXIFY MB2360 Multifunction Printer is

    $249 on the website.
    $199 on DSE eBay.

    14% off website
    30% off ebay

There is also $80 canon cash back.

So with discount and cash back:
    $59 eBay
    $134 DSE site

But DSE site is stupid expensive.

the printer was $199 on their website 2 days ago…

    • +2

looks like its 249 on ebay now aswell

    • Have a look back at past Dick posts just like this, where have you been?
If you don't want to get negged then post at least one bargain as the Deal Posting Guidelines suggest.

      • -1

Yeah I have the last couple of deals like this have had those exclusions

    • +2

with dick smith excluding everything semi decent and then raising prices tell me again what makes this a bargain?

    • +3

Please post an example of a bargain price as required in posting rules.

      • -1

14% off is the deal and there is a site full of products to use it on. I was going to mention the Canon 700d with twin lens kit that isnt on their ebay site and was reduced but its out of stock now.

        • +1

the Canon MAXIFY MB2360 Multifunction Printer was $199 on their website 2 days ago. is now $249

        • So you're admitting there is no product which is a bargain after using this code?

    • +2

Chill out Lucky13, I don't think we are negging you here, thanks for your effort. We are negging Dicky for another of one their deals with so many exclusion and poorer discount than their 30% off eBay deal.

  • +1

and if you have not noted.. first 500 purchasers only ;)

    • +1

Yeah Ive noticed theyve had that on past codes but theyve never run out. I think its just a tactic to get you to rush into buying stuff

  • +1

The soldering iron which usually sells for $57 is now $89. Da fk?

  • +4

DS is getting beyond a joke. Don't see why anyone bothers promoting their so called "deals". They exclude just about everything in store and mark just about everything as out of stock if its an eBay deal.

  • +1

Strange. It didn't specifically exclude Note 5 but…. it says it excludes mobile phone & Broadband products…

    Which is right?

    • +1

Order cancellation if you can beat Dick in any form or manner!

  • +3

everything is excluded……….epic fail of a deal.

  • +3

    With these exclusions, useless "Deal".

  • +6

It's about time dick smith was banned from ozbargain for their sudden price fluctuation and out-of-stock practices.

Neg for store issues is valid according to OzB rules.

    • +5

I don't think that's necessary. Occasionally there are good deals. The ebay 30% code had lots of bargains.

It would be better if there were SPECIFIC PRODUCTS in the headline - with "some other things also 14% off - try your luck" added in description. That way there's at least ONE deal for sure.

      • -2

There can be deals. Personally, since DS actively monitors ozbargain and uses it as an advertising platform, I think we have a role to play in "keeping the b-stards honest". There is no reason we should put up with their practices.

Ban them from ozbargain and things might (yeah, optimistic) actually improve to the point there they generate (positive) goodwill as a company. At the moment, they are more like a sleazy car dealer.

Edit: it's interesting to see how people are now 50/50 split on +ve/-ve when voting on the deal and on comments like ours. People don't usually bust out the neg's on the thread, although sometimes they do on the comments. Which means I think it paints a pretty bad picture of where DS is at.

  • +4

Everything is excluded. What's the point of a discount code if you can't use it?

  • I think DSH is trying to get their share price back up.

They're offering plenty of sales to entice new customers, but all the 'aware' customers see through their blatant sales tactics.

They really need to offer more than just the typical '% off rrp'. It's a competitive market out there, and they're not doing anything special to set them apart from the rest. Harvey Norman and David Jones (who are in alliance with DSH) have been doing this for years.

They did so well when they were a true electronic company, not just turning over retail products.

  • Dodgy Dick no stock everything is excluded.

  • Worked with a Gopro Hero4 Session - $394.74 cheapest I've seen them.

EDIT: $321.30 with the 30% off deal.

  • Casually include the old UE Boom as well…
