Good for those people who have the $50 voucher to use too!

    • i missed dicksmith deal, but this one can use $50 voucher. feel good now.

  • the dc35 is $299 and the dc44 animal is $349 @ BigW this week

    • +5

How do those compare to this animal? Have NFI about vacuum machines…

      • more suction power on the v6 and think better battery too.

        • So this is the one to buy yeah?

        • @adelaide:

I believe so - My understanding is that the V6 is the newer model/range as far as Dyson stick vacuums go.

    • same in Target I believe

  • Is it good for a 2 bedroom unit. What's the difference to all the other v6 models

    • +1

Yes a full charge will easily clean the entire unit, I think all the suction power is the same, only the head is different

      • So for a general purpose head (hard floors and rugs) - is this one ok?

edit: thanks for chart link unco.

    • +4

See here for a chart courtesy of The Good Guys

Basically only the attachments are different until the V6 Absolute which has a HEPA filter.

      • looks like it's better to wait for another good deal for the V6 handstick

    • people say v6 animal or even basic v6 will do the good for general home use. if you want to spend more, of course there are top models

  • Is the Dyson that good?

    • yes

    • People say they don't go back to normal vacuum cleaner after dyson

      • I was very sceptical of a cordless vacuum but we love ours (V6 Animal) for the convenience, and the suction on it's more than good enough too. Does a much better job than our in wall vacuum and is also far more practical to use so we use it more often and when we do, the job tends to take less time since we aren't back peddling to untangle the vacuum from furniture.

        Certainly recommended.

    • My best ever $350 spent. Awesome vacuum. Never thought Vacuum cleaner would motivate and get me excited to clean the home. I have Normal Dyson V6

It has to be said: Dyson really sucks.

    • Any company that calls a vacuum cleaner an "Animal Handstick" at the very least has a sense of humour.

    • no.

  • Does anyone know if I could use a DC58 Animal with a stick from an old model to achieve the same as V6 Animal? I have an old model requires at least $150 to fix the broken main part relating to battery.
I also have DC54 ANIMAL PRO BARREL VACUUM with all tool kit, was used to bring the stick one to the garage to clean car.

  • V6 animal is $399 directly through Dyson site now. ends 17/10. Free shipping.

    sorry not AUD

    • Thats the US site, not available to Australians.

      • yeah, I realised after making the post

  • Can u use ebay 50 dollar voucher on group buys?

    • yes

  • Sold out! Damn!

  • Managed to get one! Thanks op. Wow they went fast at the end.

    • no wait, i actually got the email and didnt ozb

  • Thanks Op, purchased! Been waiting a while to upgrade from an old stock Hoover.

you posted this around 120 mins ago and now sold out 300 units?

either something here doesn't add up or people like to follow the heard - relax these deals will come again lol

    • Why wait for it to come again when its here now?
Yesterdays deal with limited stock was very cheap and todays deal was for everyone who missed out.
      Thanks OP, bought one.

      • do you really need a vacuum cleaner when you already have one?

prices will come down approaching xmas.

        • +1

I hope so - I missed out on this deal.

        • Maybe some of the buyers are people that had been waiting for a deal already and it's not a case of just following the heard.

Also who is to say what the buyers currently do or don't own?

        • I have a mini vac I bought for 60 bucks which is about as powerful as a Barbie accessory, so yes, yes I do. It's not like I bought a ski boat then decided I wanted a yacht just because it was on special…
Why should I wait until xmas just because you want me too?

  • I thought the description said "radical cyclones" and I was all gotta get me one of those!

  • These Dysons only have battery power for 20 minutes. If the battery is flat, can they also run off the mains cord?

    • no. just buy a spare battery from dyson.

      • +1

        Or tape your eneloops together!

        • true ozbargainer

      • Not sure if trolling…

But the battery can't be swapped over on the handsticks.

        • Wrong. They can. I have a spare battery which i swap at half time. Simply unscrew the excusing Battery and put in the New and bang you got another 20mins of cleaning.

        • They do sell a replacement, but I wouldn't count on doing swaps. From memory it's screwed into the device so unless you want to reinstall it every time you use it I wouldn't bother. I'm not sure if you could charge the battery either without doing another swap. Just put the device back on the charger and return to it if you need to.

20 mins isn't so bad when you factor in not having to drag a unit about and unplug things etc. We do a three bedroom place + study with three living areas just fine on a single charge. Chances are you won't need a second battery. The unit will turn off if you release the trigger, so it won't be wasting battery if you put it down to move furniture and the like. You'll probably find the small dust bin to be a larger hindrance than the battery, and you may have to empty it several times in a single clean.

  • This is (was a good deal but I got the $423 TGG last week - with the bonus $99 tool kit

Great tool that works very well - easily as powerful as our mains-powered Dyson vacuum cleaner

Australia seems to be cheaper that the US at the moment for these V6s - and the UK is always more expensive than here
